I'm glad to see that they didn't make the debt collectors out and out assholes. I think it's unfair the way debt collectors are often portrayed in soaps, many of them are just ordinary people doing their job. They ain't all nasty.

As an American the concept of debt collectors are so strange. We have repo men who take back unpaid items but to go to someone home and take items to pay a debt seems so wrong.

The issue is the stuff they take only fetches 20% of its actual value so they are just wrecking your future. They'll take a £500 TV and it only knocks £100 off and it just makes the situation worse.

@@AJ-cv9zf nice idea kid, but in the real world people's luck can change for the worst through circumstances beyond their control, and they lose everything. Not everyone in debt brings it on themselves through carelessness or being dodgy, it's amazing how quickly your life can go downhill in the real world, it doesn't take much at all.
