At this point I have to laugh to get through her deep voice crying..😂😂😂😂 I mean be real who let someone put a house in their name that's not even paid off who let someone give them a gold card especially after they have lied to you without figuring out what they're finances are like. She was bound to get taken especially after going out of the country trying to find a man the 1st time she is so desperate. And She said it STUPID 😂😅😂😅😂😅

The Roy and Hayley story is great. Roy is more of a man than anyone else in this soap. He (eventually) handled the whole Hayley issue like a real man. Much respect to Granada also for not making this the sole thing which defined Hayley's character.

Seriously? He and Hayley are as irritating and tedious as one another. And what is a "real man"? One who doesn't describe himself as a woman or a child? I don't think anyone would be half as interested in expressing admiration for this character if he wasn't in a relationship with a trans woman.

@@shylinh5939 That's absolutely false. It's fine to have little patience for self-conscious, fumbling nerds, but they each have a personality trait that involves being knowledgeable on a wide range of things, and they share the information in an awkward manner. I think Roy is on the Autism Spectrum but I'm not aware of it coming up in any scripts. Hayley could very well be the same way. Roy tends to represent the idealist, hopeful courageous point of view in storylines. That's interesting to people, even when they're cynical.

I imagine you are talking about the difference between what we are seeing here and the Roy's Rolls on Victoria St as of 2024. For some reason it looks really crammed in the current one (2024) with the current layout. It used to look more spaced out. anyway, the one we are seeing here (1998) looks different from previous years, and I think it's because it's facing a different angle. I don't think there are any scenes facing the door to the restrooms and stairs to the flat.

3:22:36 there’s just no way Baldwin would be this stupid to suggest Deirdre flee the country with Alma’s passport… and no way Deirdre would do it (or fall for Lindsay’s lies to begin with tbf)… I can’t get over how different the characters are in Park’s Corrie.. he’s an absolute baffoon taking the viewers for fools!! I can't thank you enough for all your uploads but now the boring bits aren't just the bits we skip; they're pretty much the whole show. Yes, and what a pathetic, jealous, pompous prat Kevin was. It's as if his affair with Natalie had never happened. Considering Sally had asked him to return to her, he wasn't a bit grateful, just hurled abuse at her for having a brief romance (after he'd left her!) with Chris. No wonder she ended up with Greg Kelly within months. (He is yet to appear at this point).

🤔... How can anyone disagree with Whale singing 🐳 Ive listened to it for decades For when i find it hard to get to sleep, its so soothing & its harmonic frequency is so beneficial! Different species produce different sounds & im calmed & Feel relaxed just listening It makes me a new person after just half an hours submersion into their Amazing Harmony & balance. Id like to tie Curly to his managers chair, put sound surround head phones over his lugs & play him Whale singing for 40 mins After he wakes up, he'll be refreshed, calm, tranquil & ready to tackle anything! I remember how the Deirdre storyline spilled over into real life. I attended a WWE wrestling show in Manchester while she was in prison and someone was holding up a "FREE DEIRDRE" sign in the crowd. It's a gripping storyline in an otherwise miserable show. Sadly going downhill. Sam and Des, let's break up, let's get back together and not 5 minutes later be in bed with someone else. Kevin and Sally, let's break up, let's get back together and declare our love and say we'll leave the past behind only to drag it up in literally every scene! Roy and Hailey is a good story aswell.

The Des/Samantha story is all over the place. It's like the writers couldn't make up their mind. They split up and Samantha almost begged him to get back only to instantly turn on him behind his back for no reason at all. Why did she come back? Why not just keep them separated and have her go off with Chris? It just feels like a lot of messing around for ultimately nothing.

I must say, about 22yrs ago, im ashamed to say, i thought people born of one sex but felt they wanted to be the opposite sex were just attention seekers Many people thought that AND some still do, even in our present enlightened times I was ok with people like Eddie Izzard, Julian Cleary, even male drag artists, but anything else i was uncomfortable, & couldnt understand anything more serious. Until i met this lady who i often saw out & about in our nearest little town. We'd nod, exchange pleasantries then we shared coffee & cakes in my favourite Teashop. She was just a nice, well dressed woman in her late forties. We eventually became friends She was a charming, very intelligent woman, great to talk to & we shared alot in common. I felt i could trust her with anything! She just had that quality Anyway one day, we'd been shopping & decided to go to our park as it was so sunny & relaxing. She ( i'll just call her Peggy but that wasn't her real name) Said she wanted to tell me something about her & felt she wanted to be honest & was afraid someone else could say whatever it was & it would come out wrong & it should be her telling me first. I was feeling a little apprehensive after this talk from Peggy But in my wildest dreams id never have guessed what it was. Like Haley in this video she told me she had been born male. I think i was speechless for ages I was so confused! I knew this lady so well & had for a few years & had NEVER guessed Not a hint of any maleness at all I didnt get up & walk away though because female or male i respected this person who was my friend but told her i couldnt get my head around it. Peggy told me something that really explained it so well i knew exactly what she meant. She said.. " imagine you, the person you know you are, your dress sense, Your favourite make up, perfume Hand bag, shoes, hair style etc Then one night, i climb into my bed, have a read, think of next days tasks then turn off the light! In the morning, up i get, go into the bathroom for a shower & upon taking my PJ's off i look down to see my body with more muscles, hairy legs, arms, no breasts but at the top of my legs there is a penis... just there! " Peggy asked me how id feel ? Would i rush out & buy a mans suit? Cut my hair in a short back & sides? Then finding i have to shave my face, as it was all whiskery From all appearances i was a man But inside my body, my mind my feelings i was still the woman i was ! The woman who had gone to bed the night before with a womans body ... now it was gone & this alien body was just there. Could i imagine the horror & sheer frustration id feel? What id have to go through from that time on? Would i suddenly start to fancy women? The answer to all of those questions was, id be screaming inside, i couldnt imagine anything so horrific Id want my female body back to match the female i was inside my inside, inside my mind, brain, wants, needs ad infinitum! I understood what she had, had to endure for the first 20 years of life, i understood so clearly. I knew what she had to go through, to eventually be on the outside what she had always been on the inside. Id never heard it put that way ever before & my heart went out to Peggy & the years of pain, struggles, saving money for operations, hormone treatment Trials of this & that! My god! that poor woman was put through the ringer.. Peggy said it was worth every second of the struggle because The outside matched the inside Now she was WHOLE, anatomically correct, a perfect female body to match the lovely woman she was within. Were still best friends, shes been A brilliant pal & weve gone through the good & the bad She is married & has a great marriage, her hubby was totally accepting & it made him happy hed found the perfect woman Im happy too I thought id say this because it Taught me so much about people & life & how we need to accept & really put ourselves into perspective! Cheers 🇬🇧👧

Sorry, but there are only so many fistfights in the pub between Mike and Ken that will pass muster. And it's kind of pathetic to have a pushing match between then two of them at the doorstep of Number One, like the famous one that occurred in the early 80s after Deirdre stopped the affair with Mike.

Anyone with half a brain in that courtroom would figure out john lindsay made sure Deirdre's name was on everything so he would never be blamed for the big stuff. This also ensured they could share the spoils until the fraud was discovered. I actually lived through watching this the first time around, and remembered Tony Blair saying "Free the Weatherfield one, free Deirdre Rashid" on tv. 😂

I've said it before; Roy was a bit Autistic. I felt sad for Hayley. Coronation Street was ahead of it's time on this subject in fact even with the environment; spot on with today's problems. The only one they didn't touch on was a pandemic.

Not just that, the writers conveniently forgot to tell us what happened to the original Kabin which had an adjoining door… suddenly we saw outside shots of the Jim’s Cafe and it was on the end of a row 🥴… yet another continuity error! It’s especially noticeable for us sad folk watching it in omnibus on YT.. don’t think anyone ever expected us to do Corrie in ‘box set’ format lol

Ah yes that problem over the toilets going directly into Ken Barlow’s house was fixed when they opened the new outdoor set in 1982, as they’ve put in a sort of ginnel/tunnel in between to explain it. Prior to that there was nothing on the old Grape St set.

It's clear that from the outset, the character of Dreary was destined to grow more stupid and suffer a reduction in common sense throughout her soap life. Seldom has one woman made so many poor choices and exercised such BAD judgement as her. The latest being asking Liz to be a character witness 🤦‍♂️

Up to the 80s the women were written so much better. The late 80s/early 90s turned them into slags and idiots during a period where they were supposed to be supporting "girl power". What a shame
