Using Ohio as an example, this talk presents a detailed look at the steps in the FRA’s Corridor ID program. Corridor ID is a crucial step in securing funding for passenger-rail service. The discussion also shares results from All Aboard Ohio’s Economic Impact Study for the 3C&D (Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton) corridor, and the organization’s whistle-stop tour to advocate for new train service.
Presenter: Erin Rosiello, who served until recently as the chairperson of All Aboard Ohio

The way to advocate for any rail in Ohio is to use Greyhound so that demand can be quantified. The distances from Columbus to any point in state is less than four hours. There are always 10 or more people who take a bus to Toledo from Michigan heading east on Amtrak even though it comes in the middle of the night and is always late. Ohio is the weak link from Chicago to Philadelphia and the NE Corridor. And the Pennsylvanian overnight saves a hotel stay. Quit waiting for pie in the sky!

How come there's no state wide rail agencies?

California sort of has one though not statewide l suppose. The Surfline, Capitol Corridor and San Joaquins are its three trains. Plus CAHSR's bullet train is being built albeit slowly.

Talk. All talk. Something the United States of America is great at doing. Always talking, always planning but never doing. Highspeed bullet technology which is also, ( fully electric) is something the mighty United States of America should of had decades ago. The state that actually stood up to finally take on the project of highspeed rail is California and the California highspeed rail project. If the United States government got on board with the building of these modern marvels of transportation, we would accomplish this. But they rather give billions away to other countries. They rather spend 600 billion dollars to put some fool on mars. Remember all the money the United States government gave away in stimulus packages during the pandemic? Cost? Over 7 trillion dollars, (given away)! Hats off to the far more advanced countries of the far east and Europe. Highspeed bullet trains and maglev super train technology, the new american dream....

@@thetrainguy1Perhaps you actually do know who the obvious suspects are that gain short-term profits at the expense of arguably better long-term opportunities. How many shall l itemize? Where's the peace dividend from the cold war? Based on the results of America's foreign policies since WW2 it's hard to rationalize the gross financial drain. Sorry thetranguy but l digress.

a country who shall not be named, got 60 billion to fight against another country who shall not be named, a country in the middle east wich also shall not be named, there has been spent 1 trillion in total of war in that middle eastern country who shall not be named. What if all that money was spend on actual highspeed rail. The usa could've had a good highspeed rail network, but they prefer to pillage plunder rape steal and bomb other country's for resources, and to keep the petro-dollar in stance. Good thing that many country's are de-dollarizing now.
