This is 48 hour film project in a nutshell. A gaggle of people (cast, crew and all) are gently arguing about how to do this and that, and I'm in the background, jumping up and down and waving my arms yelling "Guys! We. Don't. Have. Time for this shit!" Yes, maybe some of these ideas are better, but if we don't meet the deadline, they mean nothing. One of the most important things to have is a director who will put their foot down (gently, and with tact) and say "that's great, but let's do it my way." It's a really hard thing to get right if you are working with your friends, or everyone is working for free.

I am writing a paper on warranty void stickers and how they are in some ways illegal. There is an act called the Magnuson-Moss warranty act and it states that (for ex:) if you break your phones screen, you can replace it with any screen you choose and it will not invalidate the warranty. this prevents companies from "tie-in sales" which force you to buy apples phone screen compared to the affordable china competition in order to maintain a valid warranty. since you haven't physically damaged the product (except Wren and those clips) and the only thing you "broke" was the sticker, your warranty should still be in tact. I'm only a freshman in college and I am more likely wrong than not, but I wanted to give my two cents anyway. If Corridor reads this I would like to ask if Jake can do some research and do one of his lawyer rants and maybe put it in a video. I love your video's!

@FirehawkCSC

You are right in many ways, but say, if they tried to get warranty repair on the clips, it may not be covered. Those 2 screws are explicitly not covered now, and any damage resulting directly from mistakes with work while those screws are out (eg. not stress on parts afterwards) is also not covered. I am not a lawyer or a professional, just looking at previous cases to guess at what the precedent is. Important note: you will need to sue to get warranty coverage as the makers will likely claim the warranty is invalid.
@SirWrender

I’ve heard about this. There is some frustration in the onewheel community about the legality of the warranty stickers. I would love if you email me the paper you’re writing when you’re finished. Having multiple leaders on set is only good for the product. You don't need to be surrounded by yes men, you need to be surrounded by people who will challenge what you say and think so you as a person, and everyone as a whole can be better for it. But also as Niko showed, sometimes the first idea is the correct one. This is why I've been subscribed for many years now, you guys all have different ideas and opinions and the content is better for it. Keep up the hard work gentlemen!

Multiple "leaders" is bad. You need a clear direction. Multiple people in the writer's room and having input when appropriate is great but if Niko is the assigned director, you fall in line. There is a difference between agreeing with everything a "leader" says and accepting your role as a follower.

2:58 one of the school guards told me that once when I was in highschool, during a science fair. Immediately after that me and my friends went on a hunt for a bottle and dry ice, which we knew one of the science fair stands had. We put the dry ice in the bottle with some water and shoved it in the trash can. A few minutes later it exploded and everybody started screaming and running. Some thought it was a bomb, some thought it was a shot. It was really loud and there was a lot of echo because of the gym. Best of all, we got away with the excuse "we didn't know it was going to explode! We were making smoke, and once we felt the pressure we got scared and threw it away!" And it worked! My chemistry teacher never bought it though... She knew... and she knew that we knew that she knew....

@SlideWreckDan
@SlideWreckDan 5 жыл бұрын
By law, it won't hold up. But only if you sue the company that refuses service. So if you remove the sticker and the company refuses to honor the warranty, you have to take it to the court which takes a lot of time and money. Most people won't go that far so companies still put the stickers in.

Technically the Flag Code also prohibits: Using the flag on disposable items, such as napkins, tablecloths, etc. Using the flag on clothing, such as boxers, underwear, T-shirts, shorts, sports jerseys, etc. So... A bunch of people that would get mad at you over not illuminating the flag have likely broken it themselves.

Flag code is law just as much as penal code (criminal code) is law. The bit of flag code you are referring to is subsection (a) of section 6 of chapter 1 of Title 4 of the United States Code, and is Federal law. www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/4/6 I don't think people who display the flag on their porch at night without a solar-powered light [or another form of illumination] are somehow unpatriotic or should necessarily be penalized, but as it stands now it is law, since it is part of the United States Code. It is flag code, as in the things which are together the law in regards to the flag. It's fairly obvious that people break this law quite often - this can especially be observed on TV commercials during the 4th of July season or around Presidents' Day - and some have even argued that parts of Title 4 stand in contradiction to the modern expanded view of the freedom of expression guaranteed within the First Amendment. At any rate, it is law, and breaking it (flag code) is breaking the law. You may be more familiar with Title IX - probably having something to do with your time in high school when you or one of your friends considered it strange that girls had to be allowed on the wrestling team although none of them decided to participate, because otherwise your school would have been required to have another all-girls sport than they would otherwise have in order to receive the same funding as they were, but they didn't want that, so they just let girls join the wrestling team - although, as I mentioned, it is likely that none of them actually did. You probably wouldn't be surprised if I said Title IX is federal law, would you? Title IX is Public Law No. 92‑318, 86 Stat. 235 (June 23, 1972), and is codified at 20 U.S.C. §§ 1681-1688 www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/USCODE-2011-title20/html/USCODE-2011-title20.htm I mean he's an Eagle Scout, so I'm sure he knows a lot more about the flag than most people, and kudos to him for achieving that rank, really, but it is super cringy for me to watch someone on the internet trying to weirdly flex their knowledge of things that they know slightly more about than the average person (kind of like this comment is doing), but then get the information they are "enlightening" everyone with incorrect. I wouldn't have said anything if this comment about flag code had been in any way related to the video and it was just a mistake, but he intentionally brought it into the video so that he could, I deduce, flex? He does this thing with his finger that strongly encourages me to believe that he thinks he is in some way above the people he is dropping these 'knowledge bombs' on, and I think that might be what really drove me to write a novel for a KZfaq comment. I also likely wouldn't have said anything, but that seemed to be the second time in this video when he did this; the first being "sublination" which may have just been a slip of the tongue, but he also described the effect as being caused by the dry ice being "so cold" which is not what causes CO2 to jump to its gaseous phase, but rather is that liquid CO2 does not form under normal atmospheric pressure, so as it heats up from being a solid, becoming a gas is its natural phase change. If I had H2O that was "so cold" (being defined as somewhere around -78.5 C) and then brought it into ambient temperature and pressure; it would melt, into water. Additionally, if you were at 1PMa and brought solid CO2 that was "so cold" into normal ambient temperature; it would melt, into liquid CO2. It is not the temperature (although it plays a role) that causes an element to sublime at normal temperature and atmospheric pressure, but rather that the molecules are so loosely packed that they are ready to escape into a gaseous phase unless exposed to additional pressure, in which case they would become a liquid - as all element do. If solid water (ice) was at around -100C and then brought up to 0C ('freezing') at 100 Pa, then it would sublime into gaseous water (steam), but the difference between this and what we would normally observe would be because of atmospheric pressure, not it beginning at a really low temperature. Triple point of CO2 compared to water: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/40/Comparison_carbon_dioxide_water_phase_diagrams.svg Sorry if me being "that guy" has upset anyone. It wasn't my intention, I guess I don't mind when people are wrong or have wrong ideas, or even when they passively share those incorrect notions to other people who then believe those same incorrect things, but when they start standing in front of an audience and attempting to inform them of things as if they are themselves schooled in them and they are indeed fact and are yet incorrect, that it drives me to feel the need to speak up. I have been watching hours of Corridor Crew and Corridor - or CorridorDigital (main channel) - these past few days, and I love their work. It inspires me to be better at the things that I dabble with and am currently only slightly better than the rest of the population; things such as videography, vfx, storytelling, and being dedicated to a project that you love and being willing to work on it simply because you love it - in fact, I'm probably below the median on that last one. With that in mind, I don't mean this comment to be disrespectful of the channel or the crew, but rather as a commentary on the actions of one person on one day, nor do I believe those actions accurately represent who this individual is when he is at his best. Anyway, wish you all the best, and keep enjoying KZfaq!

The way they treated a great American like Clint is unacceptable Abolish the TSA, they're a waste of money. Hire Private Security. TSA should be a oversight & security standards agency. Not the hideous monstrosity that it is that repeatedly fails to do it's job. No more security theater, let's get real security.

@@KyanNezhad Not that I have a particularly strong opinion on the matter, but a more specialized training of personnel with strong emphasis on psychological / body language screening and overall common sense, would go a long way. Broadly speaking one of the main differences between public and private is the level of specialization. You wouldn't need to make every single agent a professional profiler, but a few specialists supervising key screening stages from profiling crowds to flagging/screening specific individuals (as opposed to random checks) all done low key...it's how special operators and the likes of the Secret Service screen for threats in this modern age. The TSA unfortunately has some of the same issues as many police forces: Everyone is more or less trained the same way which is very much outdated in several key aspects. Namely, in behavioural psychology screening tactics. In no way meant to bash either, emphasis on specialty training would be better suited to the nature or modern threats. Makes identifying (and anticipating) patterns much harder than systematic ones. The best security is the one you don't even know exists. It's a complex matter I honestly can't do justice to by simply throwing platitudes on KZfaq.
