Here's an idea for practical effects: you guys should do a Bosstown Dynamics video with the real robot mixed in

Y'all should reach out to Eric Froemling to see if he'd be interested in joining you on the couch. He developed one of my favorite party games, Bombsquad (one I'm POSITIVE everyone in the office would enjoy, but Jake might have to crack down on break time again 😂), and worked at Pixar, writing the rigid body simulations for movies like "Up". He's a super cool guy and would be interesting to hear him talk about the blending of the technical, programming side of VFX as well as the artistic, stylistic side.

Several successful moon landings 50 years ago are too fantastic to be true... Those mountains in the background are fuzzy and blurry. It looks like an artificial background. The same goes for shots of the ascent module approaching the command module over the lunar surface. The ascent module is sharp, the surface of the moon is blurred, it looks like two different images that have been combined. All the footage is very dubious

I was an extra in Public Enemies! I spent a couple of hours running behind a car that held a stand-in, not Johnny Depp. And about 8 hours reacting to a shootout in front of a building. It was fun. Christian Bale actually spoke to me at the craft service table! Nothing too interesting, he asked me where the hot chocolate was, lol.

I would love to see you cover the late Richard Williams’ animation work and direction. His work spanned several decades from the 60s to the 2000s. Predominantly, there are physics and dimension concepts which are meticulously hand drawn. Not just with characters, but full motion backgrounds a well. He drove his animators crazy. Look for his best in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Thief and The Cobbler*, Raggedy Ann & Andy, a good deal of animated TV commercials, and some gorgeous short art pieces he made entirely by himself in his later years. (He also voiced Droopy Dog for the Roger Rabbit work 🤓) *I have to note that The Thief and the Cobbler’s final release was backfilled with some cheaper animation here and there throughout the film. This was due to budget drama which caused a takeover of production by Miramax. A work print of Williams’ pre-takeover version can be viewed on KZfaq. That fan edit (Garret Gilchrist) contains his original animation and vision, with most of the animation totally complete. Story boards and rough animation fill in the rest.
