I won't go into detail, but I have had a hard abusive violent life. And being a born-again Christian, I knew I had to forgive everyone who had hurt me. When I read Corrie's book 'The Hiding Place', I did something I had never done before: I opened it up to the last chapter. And I read how Corrie had to ask the Holy Spirit to lift up her arm to accept forgiveness from the Nazi guard at the post-war German church where Corrie was speaking - Corrie knew who the man was asking for her forgiveness, and she did not want to forgive him, but she asked God to help her. And the Holy Spirit filled her up starting in her toes and went all the way up her body to her arms and to her heart and God lifted up her arm to take the German guard's outstretched her hand and all the hatred and anger inside her left her. THAT IS WHAT I CLING TO, AND I TELL OTHERS - This cross around my neck is not jewelry but the meaning for my life, and I forgive everyone now, because otherwise I am not a follower of Christ - Christ forgave everybody, even people who aren't born yet, even Hitler, so I MUST forgive everyone. I am healed by the Blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. God bless this woman, and I can't wait to thank her in Heaven.

I benefit every time I listen to Corrie speak of Christ's love in light of her and her family's efforts to save Jews from the Nazis and their terrible experiences during her arrest and confinement in the concentration camps. I count myself a Christian but with the spiritual comfort and inspiration of her testimony, I also come away troubled, wondering if Christ is indeed so much a part of my life that I could forgive those who harmed me, my family and friends as she did. As Corrie shared many times, it was never her will to forgive but the love of Jesus that filled her heart, thus her testimony is not filled with maudlin platitudes but of a humble faith, simple and plain tested in the fires of great trouble, sadness and suffering and through it came "a peace that passes all understanding". Thank you for posting this.

I love this woman. I have learned so much from her. She really helped me through a tough time being unemployed. I loved her books including Tramp for The Lord. She travelled to US when she was elderly + let God direct her to groups of people she could tell her story to or just encourage. She stayed busy! I loved reading about her childhood. I have Dutch ancestry + always picture her work with her father as the only female watchmaker in Holland. He was arrested when he was 80 for hiding Jews. They offered to let him go if he stopped but he told them in all honesty he would not be able to stop. He died 1-2 weeks later.

Miss Ten Boom, what a love you had from Gdo, for all who have ears to hear your simple, no-nonsense . My favorite piece of footage I've seen of you is when the Hiding Place was being filmed on location in Haalem where you embraced the lady playing your character, embracing. Your love for God and His people plus those still outside the fold is an incredible energy, a treasure. I don't find it hard to imaging the fellowship yo must be having with my grandmother especially. New believers may look at these pieces of footage and audio expecting to be boared. NOT SO! I'd encourage the listeners to listen to this lady speak. It will build your faith in Jesus. You and your family, who gave p everything to protect God's precious gift, the Jewish people. Your wisdom clearly comes straight from the Holy Spirit.

Corrie was so funny, those communists, taped every word she said, so she , let them have it! They not only heard it, they taped it ! God is so good, in his infinite wisdom. Yes , Thank you Jesus ! I sometimes wonder if I'm just too broken to sense God's presence. I'm grateful for all the strongholds he's removed in my life through the actions of other people sin I know my own sin and I'm grateful that he saved me for it But sometimes I feel like I'm just one of those missionaries that may never know my purpose in life until I meet my maker I've been walking with Jesus for 30 years. I don't regret it.. I spent 20 years serving in Taiwan. Had been back a few months and I just can't figure out what I'm supposed to do with my life now I can't get anything settled in California, Indiana or Alabama at the moment I'm probably going to have to go back to Taiwan to either pack all my stuff pay my taxes before I leave But I don't even know where to leave either.. I can't stay in Taiwan because my learning disability is getting in the way of teaching English. I've got a stress disorder which makes it hard to work longer than 25 hours a week I really just don't know what to do. The last too much just trying to recover from living off adrenaline and cortisol. Yay stress disorder!. The waiting is hard. It brings in spiritual warfare

Oh I love her spirit! The only correction I must share because part of sharing the gospel is speaking what we know and the Bible tells us when we die before the Lords 2nd coming, we will be in paradise, their is a good part where believers go and the other side is for all the ones who didn’t receive the love of the truth or believe into Christ, and the 2 sides paradise and hades are divided and they can talk to one another but they can not cross over. "And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham from afar and Lazarus in his bosom." (Luke 16:23) Recovery Version That’s how the rich man was able to speak to Lazarus and all the rich man wanted was to go back to earth to tell his brothers to accept Jesus into their heart, to say God is preparing mansions in heaven is a superficial way of interpreting the Bible in John where the Lord says I will make an abode. We our the abode! When we ask the Lord to come into our hearts and believe into Him with all our being, Christ is received into our being where He will live. The more we seek His face, read the Bible and gather with other believers, praying and praising Him in spirit and truthfulness! The more He grows and spreads in our being, our mind emotion and will slowly becomes more and more like Christ! But you must be in spirit and truthfulness with all sober mindfulness when reading the word and ask the Lord to shine on you when you read! But read with others because the key is our regenerated spirit and the body of Christ made up of all the other true believers! Do not interrupt the Bible literally, God is much deeper then possessions as He became a man on earth for 33.5 years giving us His son Christ who became the life giving spirit for us to receive! This is why Christ resurrected! Jesus lived a poor life with no place to call home and He came from Nazareth a despised city and this king was so lowly and humble as to come riding in on a donkey, if Jesus didn’t live as a big king with a castle neither will we, this is a superficial human mentality. Christ is all and in all! He will be our everything and when He comes again the Bible tells us these things we have questions about why did we go through this and that WONT EVEN BE ON OUR HEART WHEN HE RETURNS BECAUSE we will be too focused on loving and enjoying Him to even care about these silly trials and tribulations we encounter on earth! Come Lord Jesus! We want to be true lovers of the Lord with pure hearts and not be so superficial in our thinking and reading Your word! Help us to pray deep prayers according to Your hearts desire instead of our evil selfish prayers we pray because we are so short of Your life! Truly we our nothing and we must decrease so You can increase in us as the LIFE GIVING SPIRIT! Spread Your truths and open the eyes and hearts of the ones who are spiritually blind according to Your Will and good pleasure! Hallelujah Christ is Victor!

I've talked to three concentration camp survivors. What they endured never really left them. She forgave everybody for what they did to her. She was a person who did not have animosity towards anyone. This definitely helped her in her outlook of life as well as getting over such a horrific experience. Press Read more. She lived until age 91. People who live that long normally enjoy life and have the support of relatives and/or friends. One probably could not help liking such a person upon meeting them. I find the story that she was freed because of clerical error hard to believe. It may have been that one of the people she saved had finances whereby out of deep gratitude, the person could bribe the right people so that she could gain her freedom. If that were the case I'm sure the people involved would not want that to be known. Or a friend or associate of hers did it. Or, she was a very nice person and it could very well have been someone who worked in the camp who took a liking to her. Of course this would be done discreetly.
