In this episode we travel from Chiang Rai (Thailand) to Luang Prabang (Laos).
But first we take our time to explore Chiang Rai and it's famous Blue and White Temples.
The first leg of the journey consist of a very old bus that will take us to the Lao border, where after taking care of the official and unofficial formalities we are allowed entry.
Our first stop in Laos is Huay Xai, where we have our first Lao meal and where we embark in the 2 day slow boat journey down the Mekong River to Luang Prabang.
After 2 days on the river we make it to Luang Prabang, we cycle around this colonial city, visit it's markets and temples.
Then, we rent scooters and head to Tad Sale Waterfall, where we swim and explore caves.

Yes, I couldn't film the border officer but once he had our passports demanded a stamp fee, I negotiated that the kids were free and he accepted. And trust me there were noisy tourists, a group of about 20 started drinking at 9:30 in the morning and went for the 7 hours of the journey, each day. I decided to cut it because families with young kids watch our videos.

@@the.fire.family That is why tourism in Laos is not going any where. Corrupt police do to everybody even their Lao people too, not just foreigners.

I played Skip-Bo once at a family reunion, and I remember it was great fun. My guess for that big fish at the market is a Mekong Giant Catfish? They reach 650 pounds. This monster fish is the first thing I thought of when I saw you were on the Mekong River, since it is the only thing I knew about the river!

Mekong Monster fish of 650 pounds!!! We went fishing in the Mekong but it definitely wasn't 650 pounds, it will come out in a couple of weeks 😅
