Okay, here's a thought: what if the monster isn't Steven himself, but a manifestation of all the negativity inside him? Picture this: Steven reaches a breaking point and corruption starts to envelope his body. He does become monstrous to an extent, but he draws it back into his body in a desperate attempt to fight the change. Eventually, Steven can't take it anymore, and he purges the corruption from his body through his gem, and this in turn gives rise to the monster we see. Because he's disgusted that this thing came from him, Steven actually tries to destroy it, only to realize his anger is making the beast stronger because it's his negativity made manifest. This eventually makes Steven realize he's forgotten how to talk things out and deal with problems in a nonviolent way. And the main reason he forgot in the first place is because he's the one with the problem this time, not someone else. It's easier to see and point out other people's problems, but it takes a lot to recognize and deal with your own. If the Crewniverse wanted to add an extra layer of urgency to this conflict, then they could make it so that the monster is a corrupted version of Pink Steven acting independent of Steven's body, meaning once again, Steven loses his gem and ends up on the verge of death. That in itself could symbolize how not dealing with your mental health could very well lead to your death. I mean, this monster killing Steven as a result of actually crushing him or robbing him of his gem would in a way be a form of suicide since the monster is Steven. I know that's heavy, but Future has gotten pretty damn real in just ten episodes.

Pretty much me. Seriously the probability of this theory being true is much more possible now than ever, and it's scaring me. What scares me even more is that things with Steven in Future are only gonna get worse from here, and we all know that it's not going to end well *at all*

If music IS to be used in order to get Steven back. I feel it would be the PERFECT way to bring Love Like You into the forefront of the series, instead of having it be an end credits song. It could also work well into the plot, when you think about it. Steven has come to love almost every Gem and human he meets almost instantly. He even acted friendly towards Peridot, when he first met HER. So, the Gems and others saying they wish to love like he can would be a good way to reach out to Steven

I think all the diamonds have the same elemental ability: Electromagnetism. White diamond's light and yellow's electricity are both forms of electromagnetism, and while it's more of a stretch, blue diamond's ability to force people to cry and feel sad only works on gems, who are made of light. And as for Steven? He already displayed this ability when he turned off that TV with his mind.

Theory: Spinel would be a big part of steven universe future because of stevens Uncontrollable powers and emotion, like in the past. we could assume that because of pink diamonds destructive power she damaged the eye of pink pearl then the diamonds heared about it, So they cover the everything shady about the tragic happening, white exchange her pearl into pinks pearl to cover it up, then the diamonds decided to make a spinel to have fun with pink, Spinel is there to reduce the bad emotions of pink and reduce destruction. Q: Why would diamonds make a silly Gem if they want perfection way back before A: To hide pinks destructive power

Theory: Pink is actually an off-colour. This is why she has a completely different personality compared to the other diamonds. Pink’s “destructive powers” are actually a defect, as she is probably supposed to have fire. Also, it is likely she was actually supposed to be a “red diamond”.

I haven’t heard anyone else talk about this yet so I’ll say it here- the fact that Steven wasn’t able to heal volleyball’s eye because it was emotional damage that caused it is probably hinting to how, even if the gems were to somehow find a way to heal Steven, it wouldn’t work because Steven suffered emotional damage, not physical damage. It was all a big foreshadow.

youtube king shaun there was a crossover of Steven Universe and Ok Ko {I think} cause there was multiple times where KO sees Garnet, and in one episode garnet went to his world and struggled to get back to beach city.

I like that you compared corruption with mental health and the horns as scars from the event. It's so true that once you go through something traumatic, it is hard to leave that headspace, and you have to constantly check with yourself on how you are doing. I recently went through huge panic and anxiety attacks with near depression, and it never left and probably never will. The fact that the physical horns and spots are a nod to how you have to learn to live with this new aspect of yourself is great. It never truly goes away, but you can learn to live with it, and better handle those situations when they come up again

I’ve just notice this after going through the episodes.... ... Steven wants the gems(not just the crystal gems but also the little home school gems) to change while for his human friends not to change. His goals for both side of friends whether human or gem are opposite for the goals for the gems and human friends.

A theory I have is what if the giant worm we see in the opening is Steven's raw power? In a previous episode, you explained how Pink diamond may have been White's "removed mistakes". Well, what if Steven talks to white about his new powers and White tries to remove them, backfiring on them and creating the giant worm monster we see that is a combination of all of steven's issues. This would make for a nice ending and good tension as Steven would have to fight them without his abilities. I love this show so much and it's so sad seeing it almost end :c

I just know 'Corrupted Steven' is going to end up being some wasted 30-second fictional nightmare that Steven has, and he'll spend the rest of the episodes battling with this made up reflection of himself and apologising to the rest of the characters about how he's been acting over and over again smh

summary of the corrupted Steven theory: As we can see stronger gems like jaspers turns into bigger monsters when corrupted. Since Steven is a diamond, he will be bigger than jasper corruptions. If another popular theory "PD has fire powers" is true, Steven will corrupt himself because of "not being needed" thought and his friends drifting away etc. and turn into "Dragon Boi" with uncontrolled fire powers and burn and destroy the Little Homeschool like Aquamarine and Eyeball foreshadowed. and i love this theory

*I think that the corrupted gem will be pink pearl* she’s already cracked, and steven being a “fixer” tried to help her and couldn’t, making it worse. Maybe even pink pearl reveals what happened to her between pink diamond, and this surfaces her trauma making her corrupted.

I think the rejuvinator or the weapon that had spinel is the one who made Steven like this the weapon was created to turn back gems to when they were before and pink diamond had those “tantrums” As well so it made Steven like this, back to how her mom acted

What if the pearl pink “owned” influenced the way she acted? Our pearl had her responsible, she gave her the information she needed, not nothing more, while pink pearl (volleyball), played with her this more child-like. Pink Diamond has the power of empathy, she would be easily I glue fed by the people she’s around. To begin with, her pearls, and once she became rose, her driving force became the crystal gems. She did what she saw around her. What was always good. She was also more emotionally aware than the other diamonds. Like gen z and boomers?

Pink Diamond has The corruption lazer right? So Steven would mayby have it? Steven would go to The diamonds and ask everything that Rose/Pink did. Then he cant handle it anymore and starts The lazer. But The real Steven realises what hes doing and makes a bubble to him. Then The corruption lazer hits him. And he becomes The worm.

Corruption is a tear in the fabric of the mind. Stevonnie’s song “Here comes a thought” addresses anxiety and relying on one to "Take a moment, remind yourself/ to take a moment and find yourself/ take a moment and ask yourself/ if this is how we fall apart/ but it's not, but it's not, but it's not, but it's not/ it's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay" I think something major has to happen to Connie and nothing Steven can do will be able to help her. That will completely make him fall apart. And push him over the edge.
