This is Corsair's K100 RGB Optical Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, with 4000Hz Polling. This coupled with the high actuation point, does give an advantage for pro gamers, though how much of an advantage?
Well in today's review we cover this, and honestly it's a difference that isn't going to make you better in games, it's something that is more so there for someone who is already at the peak of their game. As well as that there is a lot this keyboard has to offer for workstation users and people who love customization as well with iCue, custom dials, and macros.
Check out the Corsair K100 RGB here: amzn.to/34zNAq2

5:00 Conclusion
Explanation of Input Lag calcuations: it is essentially halved for getting the averages, 1000hz for example will have an average of 0.5ms delay (1ms travel), so the press can occur right at the start of the poll or right near the end, hence why it averages out for calculating input delay.

I was so happy that I found this deal for used pc that is normal 1.5k(1.7k with taxes) new, and the guy happily sold it to me. You are inspiration to me and I’m really trying to find the true deals amongst a sea of average deals, but this felt like a robbery. I started it up thinking there would be a horrible piece that didn’t work but everything worked. The amount serotonin that was in my body kept me awake enough to watch this video. Thank you for inspiring me in my pursuit of the grind.

I'd say it's debatable preference like any other hobby you take seriously. Are you willing to ready your wallet for 4K 144 FPS or 1080p 144 FPS is sufficient for you? That's pretty much what "serious" hobby looks like. Anyone doing tech research will mocker this, because they know for such prices you'd rather want to sail into custom premium sea rather than trust in the marketing or short-term experience reviewers whom never had a sufficient experience with other options in that category or attempted to build their own. I'd personally would never spend more than $200 for custom built keyboard (and if that has some rare switches, aluminum case, good stabilizers and custom printed keycaps), but I am willing to spend $400-500 on headphones (producing outrun and house genres in my spare time so analytical sound image is mandatory for me) , because, imo, those make vast difference from keyboard feels.

there are other optical switches where you can actually adjust the actuation point so you don't lose accuracy. if corsair included that in the hardware and the software, you could actually adjust it at a touch of a button and viola, gaming mode and typing mode profiles.

I would really like if there were touch screen keyboards that have the touch less gesture feature built into them similar to a Samsung smart phone so that moving the tip of your finger over the key registers as an input without pressing or touching the screen. would be weird to get used to typing with something like that. @shimshar_
@shimshar_ 2 жыл бұрын
the low latency on this keyboard is not because of the USB polling rate or the high actuation point, it's mostly because of the internal matrix scan rate of the keyboard being so high. They're able to set it so high because optical switches have near 0 debounce time compared to traditional mechanical switches, so they can read a clear signal from them almost instantly. Most 1000hz USB poll-rate keyboards will still have an internal matrix scan rate of 125hz due to the debounce time of 5ms that most switches have.

@tmorris93
@tmorris93 2 жыл бұрын
Such a shame they didn't offer variable actuation on these switches. Analog feedback is one of the few true advantages of an optical switch (eg the harder you press your W key the harder you are pressing the accelerator pedal in your driving game, just like on a controller with right trigger). The other advantage is being able to set your preferred actuation height. Sad miss on both counts.
@j.d.4697

Apparently the main reason for why this KB is so fast and possibly still faster than the Razer Huntsman V2 with gen2 switches, is the AXON processor they use on it that scans the keys more often. They also use this processor inside the M65 Ultra. The fact that other companies don't lose a single word on what kind of processor they use in their peripherals makes me suspect it can't be great, so they focus on other metrics that are cheaper to crank up and produce more publicity hype.

"$220 usd is a lot for a keyboard tho" *_r/mechanicalkeyboards users whom spent $600-800 on their keebs: hold my divorce papers_* lol But yeah, Corsair among pretty much any "gaming" brand is known to oveprice their gear. Pretty sure "4Khz rolling rate" is the new fancy buzzword (iirc standard is 1k) to jack up prices, though remains to be seen if it gets adopted by custom keyboard manufacturers. Without all the fancy marketing and RGB, aluminum case it's worth max $100-120.

Looks like the 60 dollar Red Dragon K580 Vata (104 brown switch) that I bought in AliExpress and use at my work office. For the home office, I prefer the $60 Tecware Phantom (104 blue switch). Given the quality of both of these Mechanical Keyboards, I would never spend that kind of money on a keyboard. Rather, I would spend the extra dollars on an GPU upgrade. Of course, I am not much of a gamer.

Anyone willing to dump high cash is an enthusiast in the making. Pretty much applies to anything whether you desire to game at 1440p 144h or 1080p 144hz comes down to measuring your needs. This is why any industry market is broken down into two seperate categories: casuals (users whom feel satisfied with $5 membrane, 1080p 60hz, $2 mouse etc.) and enthusiasts (users whom prioritize research to find their sweetspot regardless of budget).

Based on what I hear in the sound test I wouldn't say that keyboard sounds "good"... It sounds pretty bad, as is usual for Corsair and many other gaming brands. The whole thing sounds rattly, pingy and hollow. For pre-built boards, try Ducky, Varmillo, Leopold, iKBC or Durgod. You'll generally pay less than Corsair's outrageous prices too.

@@hircine92h Actually, I disagree. There are good benefits to owning enthusiast grade keyboard with immense durability both in casing and decent PBT keycaps which freaking are built like tanks or even more premium ABS, great open customization like replacing garbage stabilizers to reduce key wobbling, pudding switches to reduce noise, hot swappable switches and etc you won't find in a conventional "gaming" mech keyboard. But then again, this is an enthusiast preference, so if you can't justify its alright as anyone feeling satisfied with what they own shouldn't plunge all the income if they aren't sure about long term interest. For the record, I own Durgod Taurus K320 TKL with lubed MX reds that I paid $120 including shipping which is considered by many a entry pre-build keeb alongside Hifiman Sundara that cost me approximately $370 and used for music production. Does anyone need em? No, you can get away with something like Takstar Pros 80/82, MH751 or SHP9500 under $100 or more generic "gaming" headset crap under $50 and $20-30 mech keeb, but I'm willing to spend more, because I desire more power beyond the standard features.

Please stop telling me to subscribe, if you present something good in multiples videos, I will subscribe eventually If I am subscribed already and you telling to subscribed, I will unsubscribe. If I am not subscribed yet, and in all you video are perfect, but you still telling to subscribe, I never will That's the deal! That is for all subscribers not only for your channel.

The actuation distance is making the most difference. That keyboard sounds like marbles falling down a metal stair case. Heavy rain on a tin roof. Trash sounding typing test. I avoid Corsair at all cost. No I am not a Razor fan either.

The knob joke was so unnecessary and ruined an otherwise decent review.
