Yes. I think that most people go to big blocks due to their power mystic. Well, they're powerful. As for 283 I remember a friend in Rio de Janeiro who used to drive a '58 Impala with a 283 (2-barrel) and a cast iron Powerglide. In a good road it could be frighteningly fast.

Mit der Leistung und reinem Heckantrieb (und noch dazu ohne Fahrhilfen) muss es doch eigentlich schwer sein, auf solchen Straßen nicht zu driften. Aber ich würds mit so einem Auto auch gar nicht versuchen, dafür wäre diese Corvette viiiiiel zu schade :) Echt geiles Video :)

yeah there's power from any small block from that era, just upgrade carburetor/intake, camshaft and exhaust, and you'll get a huge gain. the 350 basic engine is basically fine for the job. 400hp and lots ot torque is more than enough for some street fun imo..

I don´t. The Alps are 500km away. But we have some hills in our area too.

The 454 is quite big, but the big one is the 572. :0)

Naja, die Leistung lässt sich ganz gut dosieren und man kann sein Auto ja auch ein wenig einschätzen. Und dazu kommt noch, dass ich die Straße hier zum ersten Mal gefahren bin und auch sonst lieber vorsichtig mit der C3 umgehe. Es wäre sicherlich noch deutlich mehr gegangen, aber es steckt viel Arbeit und Geld in dem Auto, und das will ich nicht riskieren in den Graben zu setzen. Bei 3:13 ist die Kiste aber schon etwas gerutscht wie man sieht ;-)

These engines start at 5000 cc and are called "small blocks"... A 2000 cc would be a "nano block", I suppose... :P

big blocks are cool, but I think a tuned small block is better for a vette...

You're right. Too much weight on the front wheels. I think that a good small block is better for any Chevy. I'm very fond of a humble small block: the 283. Other great small block is the 327. I have one of them under the hood of my '65 Corvette roadster.

Try doing this in a "muscle car" like a Trans Am, Z28, GTO, Challenger, Charger....nothing like a C3 Corvette Big Block... The t-tops really make cor the roadster feel and look! Nothing like it!

Sadly soon all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!!
