Comedy in America is so predictable. The funniest jokes are the ones you don't see coming. That's why I love sitcoms from the UK. Danielle Fishel is hot and her character seems nice, I'll give her that. But when I can see a joke coming, it's hard to laugh unless things get a bit more creative. "No, he won't come in if we start making out." And then he walks in. Now I'm just wishing they at least got to 3rd base so I'd have something interesting to watch. This is yet another American show that I grew up with in Canada that I always thought had a ton of promise, but consistently talked down to the lowest common denominator. The characters weren't bad and neither were the actors, but whenever there was a possibility of good writing, I always felt like the writers went, "Kids are stupid. How can we dumb this down or provide a repetitious life lesson to make parents feel like their kids aren't completely throwing away a Friday evening?" And the worst part is that half of these actors went on to work for PureFlix when they should have been doing modern versions of Basic Instinct.
