Thanks! I'm getting there - I barely topped 100 subs this time last year. I don't do anything to promote the channel and I don't chase the latest fads/movies. I figure I need about 200 videos to start pulling in a large number of subs (diversity of topics). So, I'm well over 1/4 of the way towards that goal. Glad to know you are enjoying the channel!

Put this here b/c I pulled my most recent video down to correct some minor mistakes I've found upon further digging. It might work for the limited audience I have at the moment but as the channel continues to grow I don't want to have to keep coming back to the comments to address those issues. Carnage Vol 2 issue #14 towards the end of issue refers to Chthon as an Old One (although reading into it this is debated and may be due to the Darkhold contextualizing things) - "Greatest of the Old Ones who ruled this pebble before time was our God . . . Cthon..." Now that I'm looking back through the series I do remember reading it as it came out. My best suggestion if you like both Wanda and Cthon is to check out The Evolutionary War. Cthon comes into play and it gives the background on Wanda's birth. As far as Set goes anything I've covered to date in my Saga of the Serpent Crown series is good which takes the story up to Atlantis Attacks (also the whole history of the crown is related in an abbreviated form in the back pages of the Atlantis Attacks story arc). Both Atlantis Attacks and The Evolutionary War are late 80's Annual Crossover Events. For a great history on the Darkhold and to a lesser extent Chthon check out Marvel Zombies The Book of Angels Deoms & Various Monstrosities. I'm not the best source on Shuma-Gorath. Outside of the Cancerverse arc and Sise-Neg I just remember the name and have always thought of the villain being most closely associated with the Sorcerer Supreme. Found the following in Marvel Zombies: The Book of Angels Demons Various Monstrosities page under the Demons entry "The archetypal Old Ones are Cthulu and Shuma-Gorath, the latter of whom preyed on humanity in prehistory before being banished form Earth. Various Old Ones have existed on or been summoned to Earth in the past, though most of them were eventually slain or driven off. Despite some common elements in origin, there is no evidence that the Old Ones are of one race. A similar group, the Ancients may be contemporary with or even a sub-set of the Old Ones. One thing I find about modern Marvel is that Elder Gods/Old Ones got mixed-used a lot. In Invaders Now! Shuma-Gorath was called "an Elder God." which is knda confusing. You could be right about the Avengers. The bit with the Annuals might be one of the MANY retellings of that birthing but with a few changes in details. It seems like every time I go to look up something about those twins another twist has been added to their origin story. Yep, some of the authors/editors definitely need to brush up before putting pen to paper. Thing is that marvel panned to reboot and we’re going to use the avengers and new avengers story where that took place to do it, in the end they just didn’t. Still in a story like that the living tribunal has to be removed from the picture because if he could stop it he would never let something like that happen. So they killed him off. Brought him back along with everything else but still.

That is so awesome to hear!! The Quasar run is incredible and I never thought it would take more more than two years to fill in all the gaps between issue #1 and #2! I haven't even got to talk about Captain Marvel, his predecessor yet! Maelstrom and Deathurge's earlier appearances will also have to be discussed. I also need to make the move on the Atlantis Attacks storyline and the Squadron Supreme limited series. All the while working up to the Grandmaster's Contest of Champions. In the end it all ties together. This latest series is a break being used to layout the framework of who is who and where the major players stand. I just got to a point where I felt I needed to explain a few things without delving deep into the story arcs the way I love doing. Much of the humor and fun at pointing put the flaws will return once I get back around to covering individual story arcs. Some suggestions if you can pick up the full series off of eBay (or read them on Marvel Unlimited) The Eternals 2006 and 2008 series (both great Celestial storylines and the one pretty much picks up where the other left off but gives you everything you wanted that the first one lacked plus better artwork). Read the Original Eternals series by Jack Kirby first if you can albeit about halfway through it loses steam. The first 10-15 issues of Quasar starts out a little weak but by issue 25 your heart will be broken. After that it stays good but it gets muddled up due to crossovers for a bit (Glactic Storm and Infinity Gauntlet). Some issues of that series what you learn on the letter pages can be some of the juciest bits and the issues with artwork done by Greg Capullo are fantastic (of Spawn and Batman fame and so much more). You're definitely right. His videos are great, and are full of correct info. I really know my Marvel history. New, old, ret cons, etc. But, he's starting to surpass me in Marvel knowledge.

As far as I know the Elders are tapped into the power cosmic. There are thousands of elders - many gain a additional powers over their long lives. It seems they most likely tapped into additional powers from the soul gems. But I have not read the most recent Infinity run. The elders gained their immunity from death when the Game Master challenges death while in her domain and wins the challenge. I have yet to cover this story but it's on my list.

This is a big ? mark in MCU right now. Maybe because of the rules they laid out for who could handle the gems in Guardian's 1. If I ever get far enough along to discuss things like Inifnity Guantlet - would love to discuss some of the things the MCU threw out the window (like the established history that only 1 item in each multiverse could unite the stones. Thus, building a new gauntlet never should have worked). Its part of the excitement and frustration of any adaptation. But more than anything I love seeing people excited about Marvel.

As far as we know the First Firmament created the Celestials. We don't know why the Celestials split into two groups (leading the the Celestial War). It seems likely that the colored Celestials chose their colors as a way to differentiate themselves and/or a form of self expression. But until somebody writes the story we just don' know. The Builders are from the Earth-616 Universe. They and the Watchers claim to be the oldest species in the universe. I read the story as they were the earliest species to gain sentience and spread throughout the Universe (so no Aspirant or Celestial needed). Both they and the Watchers initially chose to try to shape the future of other species. IWe know that Galactus and the Celestials were carried over from the previous iteration of the multiverse. The Beyonders are on a higher order and exist outside of the Multiverse which is why I haven't covered them yet as I'm still moving my way up the food chain on this series. I've taken a break from this one to focus on plot driven videos that are closer to be being wrapped up. Marvel is slowly working through many of the plot holes. And its pretty amazing that we can put together as much as history as we can. Some of these stories - Marvel readers have been waiting more than 50 years to get answers on. Some of these things, these answers are out there but they are spread across many comics and can be hard to put together. And yes, occasionally there are some "errors" that get swept under the rug. Hopefully I can continue to answer some of these questions as I move forward with this exploration of all things cosmic in the Marvel Universe.

If I remember correctly, the Celestials place their seed at the center of a planet, in order for them to reproduce. As the planet developes, so does the Celestial child. Perhaps Ego was one of those seeds, but instead of becoming a normal Celestial, he spread to the entire planet. There is nothing that i've read in the older comics (I quit collecting 15 years ago) that would indicate Ego was an Elder, I seem to remember that he is slightly older than Earth.

Not true brothers. It is a term the Elders of the Universe use to refer to each other. Colloquial, not literal. Now a mistake nobody has called me out on yet is Ego, who did start as regularish mortal/bipedal human looking alien. Hopefully I can get around to that video by this Spring

Glalactus exist across more than one version of Eternity (he started in the previous.... well technically 2x previous now). Eternity is the multiverse. When a new multiverse is born we get a new Eternity (ok, last time was weird and all of it gets an asterisk that will be Secret Wars). I have been meaning to do a follow up going further up the ladder but over the last 2 years Marvel has been messing with its Cosmic Hierarchy and I've been waiting for the dust to settle before doing the next installment in this series.

Going to talk about them in a future episode in this series.

This is from the the most recent Ultimates series. There are two volumes. Both are great. I recommend reading both. Watch out as to make things more confusing there are two different Ultimates series. This is not the series with Cap, Thor, etc.

The Volume that started in 2016. I think it is just called The Ultimates. It continues in The Ultimates 2 where the two is put in the "squared" position. Yeah, I just looked back over The Ultimates and there are more than i remembered. What an absolute mess! This is the problem with rebooting every series ever 12-24 months so they can cash in on a new #1.

Yeah, it's there club and they can invite in whomever they want. I've revisited Ego (personally, not with a video) since putting out this video - he is the last surviving member of his species who was transformed into the Living Planet by the Stranger (who also created Alter Ego). I will touch on correcting these mistakes when I get around to doing a video on Ego's origins.

The MCU & James Gunn named him as a Celestial in the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 but compared to who the Celestials are in the comics that doesn't make much sense. In the comics the Celestials existed prior to all known iterations of the multiverse (hence their origins with the First Firmament). I personally wouldn't consider Ego an Elder either but since the group is self-referential they can invite anybody they like to join their private party. I think calling Ego either/or just makes the definition of both of them more confusing.

Ego is Celestial in MCU... Elder in Comics... According to MCU, Celestials are brain like beings able to manipulate matter and energy around them... While most celestials made a giant humanoid body proportional to their brain size like the Eson the searcher (shown using the power stone by Collector) and the severed head (Knowhere), Ego built a planet around him...

I could've swore Galactus or the Supreme Intelligence (billions of minds of dead Kree) had something to do with Ego, or Jason, or Star Lord's pop lol. Marvel can be confusing sometimes. I remember when Thor and Galactus kicked Ego's ass too. Ego's powerful in his own right. More powerful than his "moon".

It's going to happen but I've got a lot of ground to cover. Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel, Kree-Skrull War and Atlantis Attacks will be getting the spotlight first. But know that I will have to cover Galactus before moving forward any further on The Grandmaster's storyline as I eventually plan to cover the story arc where the Elders of Universe attempt to kill Galactus. Some many things to cover - my list of vids to do is well over 200 and growing.

Arishem the Judge decides after a given point if a civilization lives or dies. Scathan the Approver is more like an arbitrator or judge for the Celestials and may approve or disapprove of certain situations.

It may be coming. Eternals project is happening. Celestials have been brought up several times. The Elders are already present. All the seeds are there. Now we watch and wait to see what they do with it. (Black) Goliath and Klaw are present and could be a signal of Project Pegasus showing up.

Maybe, my guess is that Ego will be put on hold for awhile but has the potential to show up a movie several years out (that way it's a much better surprise). I think its much more likely that we will see the Celestials and wouldn't be surprised if most of the plot revolved around them.

In answer to the first question - they could but we don't know. Either way it appears as though Celestials in the MCU may not be the same as Celestials within the Comics so I don't know. At some point I will be doing an in depth video on the Celestials within the comics but it's probably a ways off. Got Captain Marvel to do, Atlantis Attacks, and eventually dive back into Quasar before getting around to Celestials.

The Celestial in the 616-Universe who gives orders/direction to the other Celestials has the name The One Above All.

Not sure if they were money hungry - I think it's more that nobody had editorial control over them and they just kept throwing out ideas to see what does and does not stick. The wasteland of characters they created that only got a few appearances or quickly became jokes is a vast graveyard.

For sure the Stranger shows up at many pivotal moments but much as his name suggest his place within the larger picture is obscured. Would love some references on the time bit. One of the biggest problems with this character is he is an unreliable narrator - things he has told us about himself we have later discovered to be a lie - so any reliable information about him needs to come from an outside source. @@Cosmic.Comics I apologize about the time thing with the stranger. I realize it was from a cartoon, which I believe to be an X-men cartoon because of the content. A bunch of telepaths were being kidnapped, of course this would include Professor X and jean Grey, and they were all put in this machine that would manipulate time. I believe it was stranger in the middle of the machine.

I remember a silver surfer story where the Living Tribunal said that if he has a fourth face, it would be the Stranger. Possibly denoting randomness?
