This is a song I wrote for Flora. I had been listening to a lot of Andean and Latin American music at the time which might have rubbed off. The tune emerged from a little guitar melody I had been playing around with for a while. The lyrics emerged a fair while later. I have always been inspired by the way Oscar Wilde personified seasons and animals and processes in some of his short stories so it’s possible that this influence may have also worked its way in somehow.
