I like it when you share the weather, the status of your rig and living conditions, tips and tricks you've learned, your failures, a bit on budget items (food, utilities, land, electronics etc.), a story about living alone off the grid, Mike's Cooking, and maybe adding a shout out to other KZfaqrs or fans to start building a community. The comment section on many channels has a life of its own.

Just came across this video. If you're talking about Chinese diesel heaters, there are ways to run them off of used engine oil, or blends. You have to go into the settings with the password in order to change the air/fuel mixture. There are those on KZfaq who share the information.

*Instead of guessing the cost, simply keep your receipts when you buy the diesel or write it down. Very simple to do.*

Comes with the elevation my friend. As a new property owner some were north of concho. I've been to that area (about 6300' elavation) about 6 times recently. Always colder weather and by dusk it always looked liked snow coming down some were. Im gona like it up there!

I had never heard of those diesel heater until you got one and now when I get my next camper I'm going to install one and have a backup new one ready to go in just in case. I was thinking of doing like you with it getting a couple acres but I want to build a porch next to it I can attach and put in a decent size wood stove in there. Then I could burn more wood without having to get up all night to reload it with more wood. Leave the door open to it during the day to let the wood heat inside and maybe a woodstove fan on it blowing in the door. IDK yet, but getting a lot of idea from you and a couple other here on YT. Thank you.

Chop your wood for next winter. I would get a couple of shipping containers, weld together, cut out window opening, spray foam insulation and start finishing the inside of your tiny "cabin".

85 bucks sounds much better mike. 150 a month is what we would use if we ran our furnace. It will warm up soon👍👌. Not much longer. We're heading to Oregon in 1st week of April to host at the rogue river. For a few months hope to see you later this year👍💯🍺

Now you have a hole in your roof. Should have thought long and hard what a wood burning stove was going to entail, always chopping wood. Buying property out in the high desert is extreme weather, very cold and very hot but that's what you get for buying cheap land.

Of course it’s snowing you live at over 6000 ft elevation. The nearest ski area to me is 45 minutes away and it’s at 5000 ft. The next nearest is 1 hr away and it’s at 3000 ft. Plenty of snow this season.

If you ever have a 15 amp fuse problem again , there are 15 amp circuit breaker fuses , that open at high draw and then close again , It possibly could fix a blowing 15 fuse problem , just a fyi for blowing fuse fix on some applications .

my diesel heater uses 1.5 gallon a day average. the cost of running a heater is about the same as migrating south. The cost of running an AC in the summer off a generator is about the same as driving to the mountains or renting a monthly campsite. It all evens out.

If you're going to stay there get yourself a 20, 30, 40 gallon tank and stick the diesel heater pickup in it. The heater doesn't need a special tank. You can stick it in a ziplock bag if you want and it would work. Run Kerosene if you can find it. Much hotter and cleaner. That's what trucking companies use off a dedicated 50 gallon tank
