Costco's Korean BBQ Stir Fry Ramen - A Comprehensive Review 😍 or 🤮... Have you tried them or wanted to? You should! These can only be cooked in one way, but the preparation methods can differ if you choose. The checkpoints below are based on both variations, but I’ll get to the “garnished method of cooking the ramen” in a bit.
Costco's Korean BBQ Stir Fry Ramen 🍜
✅ The beef: Moist and flavorful.
✅ The BBQ sauce: It starts out loose at first, and I thought it would end up like traditional noodles (with water), but the sauce thickens as you cook and clings to the noodles. I didn't even need to add seasoning! The way the sauce is infused into the noodles reminds me of Chinese lo mein.
✅ Flavor: It's good! Bulgogi is a classic Korean barbecue dish featuring thinly sliced beef marinated in a sweet and savory sauce, often including soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. When grilled or stir-fried, it offers a delicious blend of flavors, including sweetness, umami (savory), and a hint of spice. It’s GOOD.
✅ Price: $13 and it likely only feeds 2, but I think it's worth it. They are good.
The garnished variation doesn’t provide a big differentiation in experience, tbh. It just adds a crunch to the bite because of the carrots. There’s no flavor boost because the marinade “BBQ sauce” is already rich in flavor. It’s cute for serving because it adds a pop of color to the dish, but it’s not really worth it to increase the taste. With this method, you cook carrots and onions, then add them to the ramen. The ramen is then garnished with sesame seeds and green onion 🧅.
✅ Crunchy
✅ Aesthetically pleasing
Overall, I give the ramen a 9.7/10... I only took off 0.3 because I’m not well-versed on starch strips in the meat. It was greasy.
