Come along on a peaceful and relaxing trip to Buttermere as we celebrate my birthday. Our camping cabin made for such a cosy stay, nestled in the woods, a stone’s throw from the lake and surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the fells.
We explore four Wainwrights across two easy walks and take in the sweeping views.
Join us for an early morning wander down to Buttermere lake as well as a trip to Moss Force waterfall.

Hi, I’m Chloe. I grew up in the lovely Devonshire countryside though, seeking wilder and more rugged landscape, now live in Cumbria on the edge of the Lake District with my husband Ryan and our spaniel, Cam,
Join us on our adventures in the fells.
We love wild camping and swimming, climbing, hiking the Wainwrights, scrambling, fell running and exploring historical sites.

Wow, what an exciting age to be, I joined the YHA as a life member in 1972, no glamming pods in those days, every member had to do hostel duty to help keep the costs down, one weekend at an hostel in shropshire the toilet was a shed with a plank across a pit and you had to take a bucket of water in with you from the stream for the flushing part, same with the shower , hang the bucket above your head, slide the bottom out to expose holes like a watering can and you had around 2-4 minutes till the bucket had emptied…….and cold water at that, then back up the path in sandals and a towel around you and back to the dormitory you may have shared with other people to get dried off and dressed, and once dry the warden may ask you to take the coal buckets to the coal shed to fill them up, but I loved it, most hostels had proper facilities but this particular one stuck in my mind, anyway a very happy birthday to you….Mike

I live about twenty miles from Buttermere and walked most of the fells with my dog for a lot of years. Sadly I’m 75 now and chance my dog as passed on and I can’t walk far now but your video as brought back some great memories.

Commenting from Northern California. I simply can't get enough of the stark coloration of the Lake District - so mesmerizing. Fitting you should mention Tolkien: Your videos make me feel like I'm stealing brief glimpses of Middle-Earth. The sustained close-up of the strange, gnarled tree with the unusual pointy leaves and berries was beautiful. (and a happy birthday to you!)

Ahh thank you 😊 To be fair, I do colour grade so, with it being Spring, it was a little more lush, bright green than I toned it down too. But yes, the Lakes does have a beautiful muted landscape.

Firstly happy birthday Chloe hope you had a good one..certainly would be my choice of spending my birthday walking in the fells..quite right about low fell I camped that one it has great views..same too with knott Rigg & Ard Craggs..I actually camped Wandope last week overlooking that ridge great view it was..really like the look of that pod think I'll look that up its something we like to do now & then stay at a nice cabin..Great stuff as always Chloe tfs..Andy..

A very relaxing and enjoyable video. You should be on late night radio with that voice, very calming. Good afternoon, no wonder your smiling, its your birthday your in the Lake district, in a cosy cabin and the suns shining, nice for bringing us along, me and lucky the Boxer dog took a circular route earlier, one i adapted, a short walk from my Narrowboat Countryman along the tow path to Gathurst Train Station, cross over and theres a little sign saying Lancashire Way. Not sure what part it plays, given the Lancashire way is 396 miles long, but you can get lost in this big woodland if you don't know your way, and if you ever drive over the viaduct here at Orrell on the M6 if you look down you can see four modes of transport all together, Leeds Liverpool Canal, the River Douglas, Southport to Manchester Train Line, and the M6 towering above, and a golf course above and horse Riding below, for pleasure. And part of the Lancashire way, as you begin to walk under the towering M6 Aquaduct. Best of Health Peter and lucky the Boxer dog

First time I saw your films I thought they were Tolkien-like. I lived in England in 2005/06 and I wish I knew lake district was so beautifull. Tolkien was English and I should know that middle earth should be like England somehow somewhere. I'm from Poland and maybe I will revisit merry England one day in the long future. It's not Bushcraft type that I was looking for but I subscribed your channel because of beautifull content.
