This movie couldn’t have come at a better time in my life. It was way too real. I too tried to have custody of my younger brother. As a barely 20 year old who couldn’t even afford my own place without roommates. I spent so many nights crying and feeling like I’m drowning but trying to keep it together for him. Unfortunately due to our living situation he was taken from me. Watching this movie I viewed the social worker as the enemy, until that line “is this what she needs”. Idk why it hit me so hard and I accepted that my brother needed more than what I could provide for him at the time. He had the most loving foster parents who took him in that allowed us to spend as much time together as we could. They were so amazing honestly. They did become a family for us too even after he turned 18, then he moved in with me. They’re still part of our lives til this day. That’s what I love about this movie, the fact that all these people not related to eachother became Stitch’s family. Sorry for the long rant lol, just everytime I see this it brings up so many memories, and the way it really resonated with me

My favorite scene in the movie is when Lilo says,"oh good, my dog found the chainsaw." That gets me laughing every time I hear it.

Fun fact, the song sung by Nani to Lilo is called "Aloha 'Oe" made by the last Hawaiian monarch Queen Liliʻuokalani. It is one of the most famous songs in Hawaii symbolizing the lost homeland. It is especially significant here, in a Disney film no less, because the scene was where an American state agent is coming to take a Hawaiian child into state custody. Disney normally avoids commentary such as this. Anyways, just found the channel and already enjoying the content. Greetings from Taiwan!

20 years later 100% agree still one of the best Disney movies ever especially the San Francisco scene hilarious get teary-eyed every time I watch that scene so funny! Such an emotional journey towards the end of the movie but worth it

This is my favorite animated movie! +Fun Disney Fact: Cobra Bubbles was going to be a nervous meek CPS agent but the writers quickly realized that Lilo would walk all over any frail agent, so they created Agent Bubbles as an immovable imposing figure from the CIA (Rosewell, New Mexico AREA 51). He's not really a bad guy, he's just trying to do the best for Lilo who lives in what he sees is a crazy house. +Sad Disney Fact: Lilo gives Pudge the Fish sandwiches to appease him because he controls the weather and it was the weather that took the lives of Lilo and Nani's parent. Nani had to put all her dreams and aspiration of pro surfing on hold to take care of Lilo. You can see her medals and awards in her bedroom. +Technical Disney Fact: The backgrounds were all real watercolor, they tried doing it digitally, but it just wasn't the same effect. so they did it traditionally on paper with real paint. The director made sure that the animators drew the Hawaiian dances as accurately as possible because each movement is meaningful to Hawaiian culture. He further leaned into the divide between local Hawaiians and the tourist traps.

It's been years since I've seen this movie but I watched it so much as a kid I could probably still quote every line.

A few years after Lilo came out we went to Kauai for vacation. I tried so hard to find Lilo’s dress for my daughter. But the locals thought I was nuts. They had absolutely no idea what I was talking about 😢

Seeing this makes me wanna fly back to Hawaii just to go to Hale'Iwa on the north shore of Oahu, get some shaved ice, and watch the surfers do their thing. That part of the state was always so busy, but chill at the same time.

Lilo's parents were killed in a car accident that resulted from bad weather, which is why she gives Pudge the sandwich, so no one else's parents get killed like the way her parents were.

If you noticed lilo and stitch OST uses mostly Elvis Music is because Elvis has deep roots and ties with Hawaii. He Visited Hawaii several times and filimed a movie on location putting Hawaii on the Global tourist scale.

One of the weirder bits of trivia about this movie is that the girl who voices Lilo plays Samara in The Ring, which you should put on the list for Halloween time if you haven’t seen it already 😁

This is one of my all-time favorite animated movies! I used to live in Hawaii and it's SUCH a beautiful place, from the culture, to the geography and the people! Now, this movie takes place on Kauai, but all the islands are gorgeous! You should definitely visit sometime :)

22:10 I feel that. Mosquitoes got me a day ago. I woke up with maybe 100 bites or more never even seeing the buggers. Forearm was puffy all the bite marks spreading into each other like one large patch. Those are gone now but the ones on my hands and in my knuckles were like instant arthritis. Fingertips almost purple because the swelling was cutting circulation.

This movie came out right after I came to Canada. You are adorable. 🤩😍

Back in the 1950s, near a little place called Hopkinsville in the state of Kentucky, there was a legendary UFO encounter where supposedly a bunch of aliens landed a ship near some poor unsuspecting family's country farmhouse and then ran amok all over the house and property. Needless to say it scared the family half to death, and they proceeded to grab their guns and shoot at the "attacking" aliens, until they eventually saw their weapons were having little effect so they piled into their cars and drove to the local police/sheriff station for help. Now, whether this event actually happened, I obviously have no idea. However, after it happened some of the family members drew some pictures of what the aliens supposedly looked like, and the pictures they drew looked a bit like our friend Stitch from this movie. So basically, Disney may have actually copied Stitch's look from drawings of (supposedly) actual aliens. 🤔🤣

That social services dude always reminded me of an MIB agent. Not very surprising to me that he turned out to be a CIA operative.
