It’s the loss. It’s how he lost in those finals and remember it’s a series. Against the spurs and mavs he looked neutralized. Warriors it wasn’t as bad. Plus back in 80/90s teams would have knocked him around. Not sure he could be same player in that environment

@uncleasian8697 He entered the league 2003. It was Pretty physical back then. The He had no business in the finals against the spurs he carried that whole team to the finals.. Jordan could not have done that.. And not.making the playoffs will always be worse then even getting sweeped in the finals.

@@dakota8381no they dont. Like its laughabke to say well he made it to this many finals. We all know Lebron’s teams been stacked for him to even get those opportunities. Bro has a losing record in the finals that is the difference between Mj and Kobe. They both didnt have the talent every year to be in the finals. Lb controlled hos situation to try to win more by moving around as well. Great but not better than either one.

Did he not fucking play in the same era as Kobe for 13 fucking years? edit: thanks for the likes, but to those who have replied emphasising jordan, kobe only played 2 years in the league when jordan did (we dont count wizards), and kobe was a relative bum to his prime self then. Is 2 years an era? Jordan era starts after pistons back2back, from 1990-98, which isn't too far off so... A better way to frame the question would be to use a 3rd party godly player who was relevant in both. I choose shaq (beat jordan in 95 and carried kobe's career as #8). Now, could lebron hold his own versus end of his prime (post 3peat to ring with the flash) shaq (much better than 95 shaq), yes. Also, why cant a 6'9" 1 through 5 not play 90's ball?

I feel like people say this without realizing his mentality would be totally different if he came up in that era, he also would have been way better off as he would not have faced teams like the warriors who made a living shooting the ball from deep. He would have faced mediocre offenses and still been unstoppable going to the basket you really think a man built like him couldn’t drive through the toughest of contact lol. He would have had ran through teams and been a bully. He wins multiple championships in that era. And even in this era he had adapted got better at shooting played the free throw line and faced some of the greatest teams ever.

You also have to take into account though the mindset and time he would be playing in, medicine is what it is now, you aren’t flying private jets to games. You’re playing 82 games without “rest”. The bad boys pistons were at the end of the line. You didn’t have teams with 3-4 hall of fame players going up against Micheal. No Bag flopping, cryin, Most turnovers in history of the game ( There goes your high IQ theory) most missed shots in the history of the game (There goes your physical ability getting any shot when he can't shoot free throws and no mid range shot theory) Definitely would have not been first pick in the lottery. Coaches back then would not allow him to stat pad. You love to forget teams played hack a Shaq. Back in the 90's he would have been another Larry Johnson if that with his soft game. Would have never attacked big men back then. The way he plays defense he would have came off the back then just to give a hopeful spark to the offense. He can't get it done in a U can't touch me game would have never got four rings back then never. Maybe one as a solid roll player.

It would've been tough because there was no player empowerment back then and nobody was joining up with another team's superstar. When Barkley went to Phoenix they didn't have a superstar so he went there as the best player. Same for Shaq going to the Lakers, Kobe was an unknown. At best you would get an aging player hook up with a prime star toward the end of their career like Drexler did.
