The Lord of the Games, Iain Macintosh, hosts the grand final of the Tifo Football Manager 2022 Liverpool Challenge. The Champions League winners of 2005 face off against the modern Liverpool team. Can Rafa Benitez's band of unlikely heroes (including an infamous Djimi Traore) best one of the strongest football teams of all time? Who will Gegenpress the best? If you're taking suggestions, I'd personally love another fantasy draft challenge, maybe for a different league. A Spanish or Italian one. Hell, mix it up and do a Scottish one with a £50m budget or something.

Quite simply the best content on the Internet. Liverpool with Caoimhe is as good as it gets, but I'd love to see a similar format covering Manchester United with Carl "anyone can get it" Anka, Arsenal with Art de Roché, a Serie A edition with James Horncastle...maybe even Dermot Corrigan as Real Madrid manager to play against JJ's Aberdeen in the 1983 Cup Winners' Cup Final (I always forget who won that one.)

@@kyleismaybemyname 1955 Chelsea, 1970 that legendary FA cup win, 04-05 arguably the greatest Premier League team of all time, 09-10 Ancelotti played some beautiful football, 16-17 Conte system masterclass and the current European Champions under Tuchel.

@@areebsiddiqui758 1955 is so wildly different to football today that it's pointless, 1970 sure if you really wanted to force 4 teams but it's kind of a stretch. Mourinho chelsea for sure, modern team sure but even with the others it feels forced. Liverpool had a 4 clear and obvious eras of great teams (04-05 being a slight exception). I think United, Madrid, Milan, Barca etc have more options and would be more recobnizable

@@kyleismaybemyname Mate, the 1970 FA cup final between Chelsea and Leeds is one of the greatest and most historic games in English football history. The 55 team had some outstanding players who are quite well known even in today's times. Of course Real, Milan and United would probably be the best ones to do. With Barca there's the Cruyff team from the 70s and the 90s Champions League winners but Guardiola's side blows them and anyone else out of the water so a pretty pointless video to do.

How is this even a question? The Liverpool team that won the CL in Istanbul are amongst the worst to ever do so. It was a triumph of tenacity mixed with quite a bit of luck. The current Liverpool team is amongst their best ever.

International football might be an interesting one for another one of these challenges. Recreate the best international teams you can remember and battle it out, or, if possible, some sort of simulation of the upcoming Word Cup, in which you simulate the tournament until the semis, and then take charge of one of those four team each (while pretending it is not taking place in Qatar but in a nice place that has any respect for human rights, like a Polynesian island in the middle of the Pacific, or nice village in Canada).

Think the only teams this could work for are Barcelona and Real Madrid. Maybe Man United - 56/57, 67/68, 98/99, and 08/09. Other than that, maybe the “all time” teams that Alex, JJ and Seb recently created could go head-to-head with another person’s selections. Or you could do something based on national teams.

It’s not even close. The 05/06 side finished below Everton in the league and nearly 40 points behind Chelsea! A league is a better indicator of who is the better team as there are more games to limit the variance of luck. Also, football has evolved from individuals to systems. The Gegenpress would leave any team in that era dumbfounded especially when you combine it with effectiveness of Mane and Salah in that system.
