Count Yogi could move a golf ball however he wanted using only 3 basic shot types. 1)Swings 2) Strokes and 3)Putts. In this video from 1988, the Grand Master of Golf explains and demonstrate his Stroke, the ultimate scoring weapon.

Thank you so much for adding a new count video to YT. This is great news! There's so much learning in this swing approach. Hidden gems few appreciate. Good to see you keeping it alive.

Adam, you are welcome. I owe it to my dear departed friend Tim Nicholls and to Count Yogi to keep this method alive and raise awareness of it. I'm playing my best golf ever, using the Simple Set System!

@@countyogigolf I spoke with Tim a few years back when he was trying to finance a relaunch of the Yogi system, lovely man. I'm so glad you're working on spreading the Counts teaching. He knew things nobody truly understands.

You are so right. Currently more golfers have heard of Moe Norman and Mike Austin, than Count Yogi. In fact there are many "KZfaq Pros" that are more well known than Count Yogi. According to the Count, this was done by design. Hopefully we can change that soon.

Thank you for uploading this. I use the yogi method and find it makes all of the game easier. It really shows in the short game though, very accurate around the greens.

You are welcome, and so true about the "stroke" shots, to me it's the real advantage. Yogi's full swing produces great ball flight and distance, but the short shots around the green are what really separates this method from traditional swing theories.

My own findings why Yogi hit it so pure is because his lead hand position is just off his hind foot. What this does is it pinned the lead hand close to the arm pit and now the "hinge" is secured. This actually eliminates early extension if you concentrate on pulling the downswing with the left shoulder. This is natural to him.

Interesting take. Stay tuned to this channel for a clear explanation. It's really not mysterious, just different from what is commonly taught.

What does he mean with taking it down?
@countyogigolf
@countyogigolf Жыл бұрын
Because of the use of the "dogpaw" or "caddy drag" action. It should feel like your takeaway stays low on the ground (or near the ground) during the initial move away from the ball.

When he says don’t ever hit down at 3:10 could you explain? How should we come into impact? Thank you

If you set up correctly, and take it away inside per instructions , and then use the "Frankenberg Pivot" that he details in Revolutionary Golf made Easy, your club head will shallow out under the ball without effort. You will feel like you are "swinging up" because the return to that bottoming out point is effortless and boneless. The power comes from ground forces as you "stand up" into your perfect Yogi follow through.

Dont hit down? How do you compress the ball then?
@countyogigolf
@countyogigolf 17 күн бұрын
The compression happens as the club bottoms out through the ball. We will go into detail on that soon.

@@countyogigolfit goes to show that there are more than 1 way to skin the cat. Ben Hogan taught to hit down and through the ball to compress it. The greatest ball striker of all time, Moe Norman, taught to hit through the ball.

You are right, and that's why this method is still rather obscure. Also Tim Nicholls was more secretive with the info Yogi had passed on to him. However two of Tim's former students, Andrew and Paul have been working hard for the last two years to get their knowledge and skill levels up so they can demonstrate and educate (not teach, as they both want to keep their amateur statuses for now).
