I was just looking for some resources on how to create a spring counter balance and everything is a few years old... this came out a couple days ago. Perfect timing! Thank you.

This is great stuff! I never even considered using spring. Growing up, the steel bulkhead doors to my cellar were counterbalanced the same way. To anyone (like me) who finds the the math intimidating, don’t worry! You can do this intuitively on your bot. Just go for it!

Amazing presentation on counter balancing techniques. Would be cool to use this to create a JVN-calc like spreadsheet for arm design.

bro! can you provide the conditions to give constant vertical force at arms end in case of gas spring balancing method

Hi this is a good lesson that you're saying I'm making a robotical suit and I would like to know if I use 1,5 50 pull up strength and 1560 pull down strength is that a good thing for my mechanical arm suit or do it need to be stable and only use 1560 for the front and back arm

Who would the formulations change if one wishes to counterbalance an arm for greater than 90 degrees of rotation? Is this possible simply using a spring, or will you have to use a non-circular pully
