Update 5/1/2023 - it is still working perfectly since I did the simple bypass fix.
you will need a phillips screw driver, wire strippers and a piece of scrap solid core wire, or a wire nut, and hot glue if desired. if you can do this repair without flipping the unit over you will not have to wait before usage. the infrared light is not a sensor the part sensing the light is, that was a mistake on my part.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! We can't easily get a water line to our refrigerator, so the countertop icemaker was a Christmas gift for my wife, a compulsive ice user. With the record high 100 degrees today, I was so devasted when replacing both microswitches did not cure the ice full signal. After watching most of a video showing replacement of the ice full sensors wore me out, I thought that there must be a way to bypass that circuit. Yours was the absolutely simplest, and I am now listening to the sweet sound of ice cubes falling into the basket. Happy wife, happy life!

@@loganr4l I even got the cover back on the machine. thanks for reminder not to invert machine to put the six screws in to spare the compressor. Learned that the hard way on a "new used" upright freezer transported horizontally.
