Cute story about the cook pot. 😊 I married in 1975 and still use some pretty raggedy looking cookware that I can’t let go of. They just continue to do the job for me. Your dish looks delicious. 👍🏼💕

sounds really good. I also only make rolled dumplings. I make mine more like a noodle but i cut them in squares. I am going to try this with the soup in the dough. I don't like sage tho. Not even in dressing

I have my mom’s pot exactly like that! I’m curious though about how you got the teflon off. Mine is worn in the middle and sometimes leaves flecks in the food. 😮

i was young and dumb years ago , I would not keep a pan that the teflon was coming out now. it was a funny story I wanted to share.

@@LivingintheTennesseeBottoms I haven’t cooked in mine since I noticed flecks. Now I use it as decor 🙂

Makes it taste richer. But so will chicken boullion (sp). Also you can add flour and make your gravy thicker and it will taste richer. Cream of chicken soup helps make very good gravy.

I never understand why people put cream of chicken in everything they make. I know it wasn’t around back when our grandmother’s made dumplings.

i dont know cream of chicken came to the stores. i didnt have it growing up or not even when i first got married but after all these years cooking sometimes i change recipes up.

Cream of chicken may not have been around in a can but it's been around. As a teen it was in our cabinets, and if not we had learned from our mom tips and tricks or how to dress up anything mainly in making a gravy. And sage, it totally enhances a multitude of meats great on pork, in sausage and if you think about all the poultry seasoning that ends up after Xmas I use it the same way. I definitely heard her say 'this is the way I make it' or better yet she said 'her grandkids love it' you cook for the ones you love and you add what y'all like not just by a recipe. I was raised on flat dumplings but 2 of my kids love drop ones so I go back and forth. I think if it's there try it, if it ain't that great omit it next time. My opinion is the same as it's my opinion my kitchen my rules. My Daddy was not a mean man but if our mama cooked it we ate it or we could hear about how bad it was during the depression. I'll get off my soap box now.

I don't understand what you mean. Just because it wasn't around years ago doesn't mean we can't use it now. That is how recipes are made. To each their own.

Wouldn’t the cream of mushroom soup leave your dumplings with specks of mushrooms?
@marywesley31615 күн бұрын
