My folks were married for 55 years before my father passed four years ago. Vince Gill has a voice as smooth as butter on a cornbread muffin (Letting my Tennessee boy show in that comment!).

People can be married for life, but they must be soul mates. We were married for 63 years when my wife passed. There was no one else for me, we held hands on our first date (1958) and held hands everywhere we went, and I was holding her hand when they came to take her away at the end. I miss her so much and it's been almost 3 years.

I can imagine being married to the same person all my life. My wife and I were married for 63 years when she passed away two years ago. But it has to be your soulmate for it to work out. The reason for so many failed marriages now a days is people rush in and are not truly in love, and the marriage fails. People that are lucky enough to find their true soulmates will stay together for life. I still wear my wedding ring and it will stay on my finger until I go and join my wife.

I don't know where you got your info from , but Vince did not leave his wife for Amy Grant he was already separated and divorced for almost 2 years before he married Amy. And he never lost his voice your thinking of Shania. AND yes he can still hit the high notes.
