In this guitar lesson, we’ll work through a progression from the classic song “Walk On Boy.” The original version of this song was written by Mel Tillis and Wayne Walker. The flatpicking guitar arrangement that you’ll learn in this lesson is similar to “Walk On Boy” as it was performed by Doc Watson. After we work on the main flatpicking guitar break, we’ll take a closer look at this song’s rhythm guitar part including the chord progression and vocals.

I think anyone advanced enough to play this, more show and less talk would help. At least for me, all the talk makes me lose track. These things are more second nature after ya do it and keep coming back to it, each time then ya just do instead of think about it. Love your teaching. Just less talk more show. I think, for me anyways. God bless.

I've been doing the same 'camp fire' strumming since 1965. Now that I'm retired and staying at home I finally want go to another level with my skills. Plus, I love me some Doc! My man here is doing it just right. Giving me a solid foundation to build on. And I am. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of instruction, the presentation of the material, and the pacing. It feels just right. Thank you sir!

@@jaykaysr9225 I had trouble learning mat in school, one teacher would teach and I didn't get anything. But the next teacher tell it another way, and the light came on and it seemed simple. May be A.D.D. or something. At 65 my attention span is not as long as it once was. So for me it seems to help when it gets to the point instead of some do it like this or you can do it that way. For me its show slow then normal, then show slow then normal. I still like the teaching. Just I'm probably slower than most this is what seems to work best for me. Thanks for your input just the same. I'll keep watching, mabey I'll get it anyway, Lol. At least some of it. I'm just wanting to be good enough people dont wanna leave. Most don't realize if ya miss a lick anyways. God bless. Thank you.

well as someone who isn’t very advanced I appreciate him breaking it down in bite sized pieces that I can understand, im sure his goal was to make it to where anyone could understand how to play instead of catering to wadedeeds1738s attention span
