I am so glad that KZfaq exists so that all of this great music can be preserved and enjoyed. I am 52 and little did I think that when I saw them on the Andy Griffith show as a kid I would still be enjoying their music. This music uplifts the soul. Thank you very much for posting.

“There Is a Time” Song by The Dillards There is a time for love and laughter The days will pass like summer storms The winter winds will follow after But there is love and love is warm There is a time for us to wander When time is young and so are we The woods are greener over yonder The path is new the world is free There is a time when leaves are fallin' The woods are gray the paths are old The snow will come when geese are callin' You need a fire against the cold There is a time for us to wander When time is young and so are we The woods are greener over yonder The path is new the world is free So do your roaming in the springtime You’ll find your love in the summer sun The frost will come and bring the harvest And you can sleep when day is done There is a time for us to wander When time is young and so are we The woods are greener over yonder The path is new the world is free Life is like a roll’in river With no regrets as it moves on Around the bend a shining morning To greet the friends we thought were gone There is a time for us to wander When time is young and so are we The woods are greener over yonder The path is new the world is free

Really? I'd like to smack that kid with that banjo. Doug Dillard's lead was fairly simple to play, and it fit perfectly. The banjo drove this tune, and nobody is driving the bus here. Too much Bela, nit enough Earl. Plus the original was in cut time and it's screwing with the vibe here by changing it.

Oh man, that look he gives her when she hits a sour note in the harmonies... priceless
@francesfarmersward4 жыл бұрын
That was intentional, she was just a little too loud for background harmonies. You can hear her do it throughout the entire song on the same two notes in the chorus, she just backed off a bit. She’s actually on point the whole song. But Rodney missed a line of a verse. 😊 But he gets to do what he wants, it’s his lovely song!

I'm from Chicago but my mom was from Bosavein Virginia, a small coal mining town in the Appalachia's. Now I'm 61 and as long as I can remember my family sang this song. And now my long time friend was born and raised not to far from where my mom was born and raised knows this song. Rodney was born in Illinois like myself. Missouri is in the south? I can't believe that. well Kentucky is a union state. Imagine that! God Bless
