Check and clean out you chute after every use as if your chipping green wood, leaves, etc they tend to plug the chutes up because of the sap, moisture in the material. Dried limbs leaves chip up much easier and goes thru the machine alot better. But you got a great chipper . Those extra bolts may be extra bolts when you change the cutter blade out.

That's right. Not suppose to use old bolts with new blades.

I agree about those bolts, but they could also be shear bolts for the machine. Best that you go through all of the information you have for it Evan, it should be in there what they are for. Very nice looking machine however you look at it.

Nice buy! We asked the guys trimming power lines to dump their chips for us to use, got 4 loads from them one summer. We mulched everything! Makes wonderful paths and trails in the woods! Dad broke down and bought an old 1 row corn chopper for $1.00at an auction and stripped all the tin off the front of it. That pig ate a 12" walnut log like it wasn't even there! The old Ford just grunted and squatted at first bite and then proceeded to chew it up!

You did get a good buy on your chipper. We used a Jinma chipper for many years and it served us well. It was very similar to yours, although yours does have many improvements. That extra set of blades would have cost you over $250 to buy. Be sure to view the CD and read the user manual carefully when it comes time to reverse your original set of blades. Yes, they are reversible. I believe you will find out that the extra bolts you found are mounting bolts for the new blades. They looked hardened. And, if they require hex wrenches, then it is 90% that is what they are for. My wife and I both enjoy your videos. You and Rebecca remind us of ourselves, 30 years ago.

I've got a MX-8800 and it's a beast. I've used it solid for 3 winters in a row and there's very FEW trees it wouldn't eat. All I can say is WEAR EYE PROTECTION, a face shield if you can. That thing can flip a tree in any direction violently and the first time you get whipped by a branch in the face, you'll wish you had that shield on.

@@CountryViewAcres For the most part, it looks nearly new. You got a killer deal on that! That should lessen the sting from that hay wagon. BTW, one thing I would check is that if you lift it all the way on the 3-point lift, that it's not bottoming out the PTO shaft and compressing it. Mine had to be shortened to fit correctly.....and they have directions for doing that, but mine still ended up wanting to bind up the shaft when I lifted it. There's like a single magical dimension that works perfectly....at least on my Kubota that was the case.

Those bolts might be for the blades. I worked trimming trees for the city and our chipper required for the bolts to be replaced every time the blades were changed. The blades could be rotate once but weren't supposed to be resharpened. Be sure to read the manual on that.

I'll agree. I own a tree service & I have a 12" Brush Bandit chipper. With the double sided knives, you reuse the bolts when you flip them. You have to use new bolts when you install new knives.

Congratulations to all the winners of your 100K giveaway. Looks like you did good with your bid on the chipper, read and heed the safety instructions on using the chipper, the wood can snag your clothing and you NEED to know how to stop the chipper. Stay safe and have fun working with the equipment you'll like it. Fred.

The yellow handle looks like a safety bar that has been installed incorrectly. I'd expect the pushed away position to be what stops it, not pulling it. If it pivoted about the centre rather than the end that would reverse that disabling rod.

As to why it came with so many extra bolts. Chipper blades are held in place by stretch bolts so when you remove the old ones for blade sharpening or replacement with new blades you have to use new strech bolts and make sure you torque them to the correct f/lbs. It will say in the manuel. I am a estate gardener who is trained to use a chipper, on the chipper qualification course here in the England they make a big emphasis on the stretch bolt issue. Great channel by the way, love watching a good old square baler and hay rake work in your hay making videos. Thanks

I have the previous model of yours. Mine is hydraulic (Woodland mills). I don't chip 8 inch as I burn anything over 4 inches. The extra bolts are for the replacement chipping blades. My chipper is at least 10 years old. I have only replace the blades. In regards to some wood not going in, Check that there isn't a pair of limbs off the main piece of wood. The teeth of the infeed roller will not pull the limb in. You can see it in your video at 9:17. you can see where the infeed roller was stuck, spinning. You can pull it out, cut it off, or lift the infeed roller and push the limb past the roller. cheers Jeffrey
