On Saturday 9th October 2021, CDRJC Class 5 steam locomotive "Drumboe" left Whitehead Railway Museum for its home, County Donegal. The engine had undergone significant restoration at Whitehead by Heritage Engineering Ireland and RPSI volunteers.
At Whitehead, "Drumboe" has received brand new water tanks, a cab and coal bunker. A fresh coat of paint was also applied, complete with pinstripes and signwritten numbers.
She will now be on static display at the Donegal Railway Heritage Centre, and it is hoped that she can be steamed again in the future, following further boiler overhaul.
In this video, the loco is shunted out of the RPSI workshop and lifted onto a low loader by mobile crane.
