As a Korean, the last part of the chorus is a distinctively traditional "garak" or musical phrase. I am very happy they chose the melody to reflect the "han" or "unfulfilled sorrow" that is the heart & soul of a lot of traditional Korean music.

Jisoo has such a distinctive voice. Like when you hear her, you know it's her. There has not been enough of her voices in the group songs. This is an amazing treat!!

@@JinnYoungg are you sure you've heard them live and not the back sound? I am sorry if it's offensive or something, but I've watched their live videos and they are mostly lip syncing👀 or really not that good at singing, but that could be them dancing too intensely idk. Maybe I'm watching something wrong, but that's the impression. There's also usually sound effects on mics and you can hear it if you know what to look for. It seems like there are none of their acapella singing on the Internet tho. Or I'm searching wrong?

@@JinnYoungg also, if you meant going to the concert, I don't trust this stuff, everything is better when you're in the crowd. Once I've accidentally went to punk rock festival with Blur (one of the Gorillaz) as headliner, but several groups before them were rather shitty. But when we went to after party we discussed it and even tho it was objectively shitty music of unknown people everyone loved almost every second of it. It really helped that those groups were also with us on after party. So, I'm thinking, if you are a fan, you were really excited to see them perform, and I'm not sure you could be impartial.

@@JinnYoungg I admit I have to somewhat retract my statement, after this dialogue I decided to search specifically for "jisoo can't sing" and some fan named this a video with compilation of Jisoo actually singing. She's sometimes rusty with belting but it's rather good when she's doing the calm stuff, also nice range. Yay I was wrong! But still what's wrong with all of those other videos I watched where they weren't good? Ugh okay

I heard from another Korean reactor the chorus has traditional Korean taste to it …..it may be underwhelming to some but it felt refreshing to me compared to a lot of the kpop songs that have come out this year. The smooth feeling and snaps just flat out does it for me swear I had goosebumps for an hr from the moment I saw the MV for the first time

Theres sth in her voice that making me keep listening to it, sorry couldnt find the right word, its cozy and enjoyable. And ngl, this is the exact reaction I had when I first watched her Mv, full of surprise!! I always wonder wt kind of genres will Jisoo do for her solo, and im glad she found her own style, literally the song suits her so well!! And the side track All Eyes on me is so good as well, a song that you wanna dance along with, well done Jisoo, a successful debut❤

My interpretation is as follows: 😅😢 This is her true self separating from "what the world wants her to be". She is finally parting ways with the masked Jisoo like a flower leaving its only scent in spring. Spring is the season when flowers are in bloom, and instead of blooming, they are growing. The metaphor of her looking at her own reflection in the mirror symbolizes that her 2 different personas were all scattered throughout the MV. She's saying "I'm fine, I hope you are too" as a goodbye to her exhausting, beautiful self. Well... this is just my personal opinion ❤😂

I've been streaming this video since 12 and it's 6 now but I just remembered Jisoo and Jennie were on something can't remember what but they had gloves on and the inside was pink. When they formed a heart together Jisoo said all she could see was the pink part of the glove. Man every detail has been so well thought out! There are so many intricate details that no one can say Jisoo wasn't hands on with this project. ❤ Love your reactions love Jisoo and I love blackpink!

OH MY GOODNESS YES YES YES!! So sorry that I'm late but that's okay, dude this WHOLE song had me just speechless just everything about it was PHENOMENAL (also FINALLY YG JESUS) I loved every part of it! Her vocals are INSANE and pretty underrated I love it so much, the visuals of course the Dance don't get me started my jaw legit dropped like wow, this is just a bop, the outfits are amazing every single one of them had me by the throat (also at the end she did not have to take that off like that while staring at the camera completely not necessary) but at 6:43 my jaw was in the floor- the whole look was just GORGEOUS and that dance as well (also as a car person that car in the MV I love it where can I get?!) Anyways I can't wait for you guys to react to more Blackpink such as more Music Videos, B - Sides, Live Performances, Covers, Dance Practices, Moments, and of course Ships!
