What a great start to your new adventure. Now it's time to go down the rabbit hole and can everything! All the veggies. Corn, carrots, potatoes etc. Then when you get more adventurous you can start pressure canning meats and meals like chili and beef stew. What a wonderful thing to have on the shelf after a busy day. This was my first time watching your vlog. I love the energy you guys bring. Thank you for sharing.

Tip 1; use your dishwasher to sanitize your jars. Tip 2; you do not need to blanch your beans before you can your beans. Bring the canner to a boil, set your timer for 5 minutes. Shut the heat off and pull your beans. They are crunchier this way.

I used to run my jars through a hot rinse in my dish washer, instead of boiling jars. You can go to farmers market and buy large quantities of whatvyou like and can them. I would go buy Roma tomatoes, not as watery, and can them, instead of buying cans of tomatoes in store. I make corn relish, pickled beets. I pick or buy apples and peel and ore them then I cook them down and make applesauce and can it. I use a variety of apples and leave it a little chunky. I make my own jams. I've never bought jam, always made it. I pick berries and measure quantities of prepared berries for a batch of jam, put it in a gallon freezer ziploc bag, push out of it and lay it flat and freeze it. I just stack them in my freezer e r.

Pickled green beans that sounds so yummy. I've never made them but I've canned green beans and only use a pressure cooker with the green beans because it's so much safer. I'll never forget the story my mom told me of a whole family dying of eating green beans that weren't process correctly. So as kid she boiled green beans for 5 minutes.pit of the canning jar. I'm 73 so that would have been a long time ago.

I would not bother with freeze-dried. They cost too much money and take forever to freeze dry. I would can when products are plentiful Like summer and fall. You can go to farmers markets and buy bushels of items for less. If you have a deep freezer you can vacumn seal and freeze. We don't like left overs so we vacseal and have another day. As you know prices keep going higher and some products getting smaller. Hugs and love, Janet Don't forget to ask people to subscribe to your channel. You should be way over 35,000. I love this channel, you all are so real and down to earth and fun. Maverick and twins are a riot to watch grow up. Very cute couple is Crandall & Marci.

Just hang on guys. Continue to teach through all the fussing. They are so young and just developing coping and communication skills. I had 5 age 5 and under. Then I had a few more. (8 in 12 years). It is real life and actually listening to the fussy kids blesses my heart a little. Takes me back to when life was so full. It is hard and exhausting but you will look back in a few years and what you remember won’t be all the fussing.

I’m just looking at the background when Crandall sat down beside Maverick and I’m looking at the new entertainment unit wall in your living room I don’t know how I missed the final compilation of putting it together video but oh my goodness does that ever look wonderful. Professional, looks like anything you would find better homes and Gardens magazine. Well done, Crandall that is gorgeous. Now, I’ll get back onto watching the video/blog about your pickles. Lol.😊

I want to recommend the book "USDA Complete Guid to Home Canning" it explains a lot of stuff and has recipes for almost anything from the garden meat and fish. I got my copy free from my local extension office. I told them what I was looking for and they printed a copy of the complete book as I waited for free. You may be able to find it online and download it to your computer for free.💖

You both did an amazing job on the pickling. You should pickle some watermelon. I bet Maverick would definitely love it. Crandell, Don't take this the wrong way but you have some beautiful baby blue eyes. If you don't want Goose to bite when Maverick gives him treats. Say Goose sit. Be gentle, soft soft. Keep doing that until he appears less aggressive. He will get the message. I just love anything pickled.

Yum. How lucky. Marci have you always been a picky eater? I’m glad Maverick didn’t see the face you made while trying Crandalls Grandmas recipe for her beans. Crandall showed Maverick that the beans were delicious and he loved them. Maybe you can make some canned beans without the dill and vinegar. Maybe you’ll like those. ❤ canning is easy once you’ve done it a couple times. lol you might have to have Crandall put some more shelves up. ❤

Get your freeze drier from Harvest Right. Give one of your friends names that has one and they will get credit and no extra cost to you. I think they have a $500 off sale in May every year. I remember Jason talking about it. You put one on layaway for maybe it was a $250 down payment. Then you don’t have a set amount payment after that but maybe a monthly one. Whatever amount you could do. No interest. After it’s paid off they send it to you. Certainly worth looking into. Frankly you can do it with all that wheeling and dealing you do. An extra something sold, a little more on the drier. With your boys it will be well worth it. ❤ the wheeling and dealing is not a bad thing. Go get and sell some more green houses. 🤷‍♀️❤️

If you have a dishwasher you can run just the canning jars through it and that will sanitize them enough for canning. You do however need to boil water and sterilize the flat seals. I don't know if you did that because I didn't see that but please be safe with your canning.
