We married 32 years ago and the older we get the less important the little niggles or annoyances are. We've had a couple of big fights over the years, but they never lasted more than a day or so because the truth is that it hurts and you don't want that. Having a quick bicker keeps the air clear. The older we get the more we appreciate kindness is what matters, so we try to be kind to each other. Who ever said years ago "Don't sweat the small stuff" was right.

The couple that have been married for 4 months. If you don’t talk to each other for days then you have a problem in your relationship, which might end up splitting up. The other couples that have been married for 20+ years talk it out almost immediately. Big difference there

My belief is that you are supposed to go through a fight before getting married. You have to know what you're getting in to and the other way around, the way that person reacts and copes with certain things. Are they able to communicate it well and are their addictions (as we all have them) something they run to after something extremely stressful. I hope someone else shares this belief.

I am binging these videos right now but really just skipping to the “married 57 years” couple because I have come to believe they hold the key to happiness.

After a huge fight, my parents apologize to my and my brother then just start talking again after 3-4 hours. They have been married 19 years.

Me and my gf dont fight but normally what works is i make a stupid face or say something dumb or stupidly fake cry like comedic and if all else fails i make a baked good of sorts and put on a disney movie with popcorn and wait until she comes over and we cuddle

I'm in a long distance relationship for 3 years and its kind of an unwritten rule between us to initiate making up alternately like one time he'll text me first and the other time I'll text him first to make it up. But wierd thing is that no matter how bad the thing goes between us we've never remained mad at each other for more than 3 days. This 3 days cooling period is painfully accurate each time. 😂

We have been married 9yrs, so I don’t have a heap of wisdom, not yet anyway! The way I process a disagreement is by asking myself ‘is this something I can’t forgive?’ If the answer is no (which it always is) then we talk through it and move on. Unless it’s something that I truly can’t move forward from then what’s the point in remaining angry? We are both very stubborn people, marriage at times can be hard, you put two unique individuals together and basically say “now live together and make it work forever”. There’s going to be bumps, and all kinds of disagreements, but you have to view the bigger picture! Move on, and then keep going!

My boyfriend and I aren’t really the arguing type, we’ll always start an argument and then neither of us care enough to stay mad so we get over it after like 10 minutes
