He probably got hit with the 'Kia Boyz' documentary in his KZfaq recommended feed. It's an interesting video about the teens that started the entire trend of Kia theft, resulting in lawsuits against Kia for manufacturing cars that are too easy to steal.

The judge isn't going to let him be around people who break the law and cause the defendant to have a positive test. He brought this on himself when he blamed the gf. Now he'll either have to wait to be with her (if she waits for him) or he can get a new girlfriend.

He needs support to turn his life around, not confirmation it's ok to break laws. And like the judge said, if it is meant to be they can wait until he is through with probation and be together as the new him..
