All great works in this semi final, but I sure wished Catherine had advanced to the finals...her portrait was the one that looked most like the sitter

Seeing how Katherine improved (and it's an understatement) from each of her attempts at it, I’m really sorry she didn't get into the final, but I’m also hopeful she will try again and win. She totally deserves to be the portrait artist of the year

@@chompers11 I‘m sorry for that (I don’t watch mobile) but this is a problem of KZfaq, not of the commentators. It’s obvious, that comments to a competition deal with the decisions of the jury. So in my opinion the commentators are the wrong contact persons for you, you have to turn to KZfaq.

Some very good portraits among the nine but I feel two out of three works should not have won.

I think they all missed out on painting the sitters eyes right ,they were very noticable and characteristic. It seems these judges dont like much realism they go for dabbed colours.

I find the judges to be the problem. Always finding negative things that can bring me, the viewer, down. It's just their limitations that they are revealing. Wish you could find others for future series.
