People are acting like that sentence is too harsh because of the number of years. Think of how many years of these girls lives combined he took away . I don’t think it’s enough.

Either way it’s a life sentence but she wants him to understand the reason for each set of years he received . He ruined countless lives and she wants that number to haunt him for as long as he lives .

That's not how a lawyer thinks. When a new lawyer passes the state Bar she takes an oath to represent her clients to the best of her ability. This has nothing to do with the client's guilt. That is the whole point; in criminal defense law, a lawyer will eventually find herself defending someone who is guilty. If she holds back on her defense, she can be sued or even disbarred from practicing law. You may hate seeing a known killer (with overwhelming evidence against him) getting an aggressive defense, but that lawyer is simply doing her job. And if you are ever wrongly charged with a crime, you'd want that lawyer you hate! Because if she can defend a guilty killer aggressively, then she will no doubt do the same for you, right?
@shanegarcia5963
@shanegarcia5963 6 жыл бұрын
Poor Finian i have lawyer friends. One told me that this guy killed someone on accident while fleeing police. They have him on camera. In a perfect world the oath will always be the mind set but come on. You have to be honest with yourself and with your client. Instead of first degree homicide with a vehicular weapon he's shooting for involuntary manslaughter

In fact, he had *many* psychological disorders and *many* learning disabilities, which was what made his intelligence all the more impressive. Perhaps you should get off of KZfaq and read a book... Shit, unless you sincerely believe that you're doing something very, very meaningful for the world right now then I guess keep doing your thing. I'm sure you have it all figured out. Isn't it odd how Nassar got transferred to a prison in FL (of all places) where they protect people like him? Yet, Epstein was for sure murdered b/c of who his accomplices are? We could probably do away with half the men on Earth and we'd be better off. I feel that since we are likely nearing the end of humanity, due to climate change, that we women shouldn't have to put up with this anymore and we should just get rid of men (and the rare women) who are like this. Women should have the power since women are nurturing by nature, for the most part, while many men seem to just be evil yet come across as "nice guys." I hope you watch the HBO docu on this At the Heart of Gold. So disgusting how men protect other men and how these monsters hide behind their families! z

Jae Lynn Wow... I do not want to live in a world where you get your wish granted. Us versus them... that is the problem. Using a case like this to push such an agenda is far from ok.

@@ilkyway5854 With this downright ignorant attitude of hers and her deeply narrow-minded belief that all men are bad and all women are good, she fails to realise that by generalising, she is part of the problem. She thinks that by getting rid of all men is going to be a permanent problem-solver but again fails to realise or just ignores the fact that, by doing that, the human race will die out (despite the idea that sperm can be frozen).

After watching hours of this trial , the one thing that stands out the most is how compassionate this judge was with the survivors of this monster , she obviously has an incredible sense of right and wrong , and even tho she was very tough on this defendant (175 yrs ! )she was also very , very fair , just a fine example of how our system works and how it gets it right (most of the time) we are very , very blessed to be living in this great country.

“Why didn’t you tell anyone?” needs to be executed from this topic! They are skilled predators! Judge Aquilina , you are on my Hero list. As a survivor, thank you for making it a point to expose this behavior so people can see their inability to be human. Hopefully the prisoners don’t kill him. I hope the inmates keep him alive and torture him to the point he takes his own life.
