"[Hannah Payne] should have minded her own business." Assistant D.A. Nigel Hunter delivers the State's closing argument saying that chasing Kenneth Herring and shooting him went against all common sense. There is no reason he shouldn't be alive today, she said.

I hope they convict on all charges, but think they might pull back on the most serious one - malice murder. Imo, this is one of the more obvious crimes of this nature that we've seen. Payne needs decades in prison.

That man's death and the young ladies conviction is a direct result of the insane gun laws in Georgia. So many people in that state now feel they have the right to run around playing wild Bill Hickok and Wyatt Earp. That's what you get for electing inbred hicks for governor.

@@jrx2662 LMAO!!! Yes we clearly do KNOW what occurred at Kenneth Herrings truck. Hannah Payne approached his vehicle clearly AFTER blocking him with a loaded firearm, hysterically demanding that he return to the scene of the accident. However, I certainly suppose the actual “testimony” of those who WITNESSED this altercation, or official FORENSIC reports presented at trial that there was absolutely NO finger prints belonging to Mr. Herring found on the weapon used by Hannah Payne or, the actual toxicology report clearly confirming there were NO drugs or alcohol in his system prior to this “supposed” struggle YOU seem rather FIXATED on. Moreover, given the total gravity of this case, what “else” is there to KNOW???

A cruel inhuman sentence with no hope of redemption or rehabilitation. The INHUMANE AMERICAN INJUSTICE System. A nation that also sends children to jail for life after putting a gun into their hands from birth. A mad gun culture. An immoral godless nation of mentally screwed up nation of fatherless children. What on earth is wrong with the defendant’s attorney?? He is SO unprofessional. Rolling his eyes as the prosecutor says that Mr Herring should be here today with his family during the holidays. What on earth is so unacceptable about that statement? How could anyone roll their eyes at that? He clearly holds Mr Herring’s life in low regard just like Hannah did. Disgusting people.

in court when a person want to take the stand is because they believe there innocent! and they want to the truth to come out! attorneys frowned upon defendant to take the stand! because of cross examination! but in this case, it was not so! so it says a lot about this defendant! she might have gone over board in her assessment with this accident! but I have to believe that she had no ill intention to want to kill the guy! she just to try to stop him! the da's job is to make you look guilty at all cost! they are very heartless in there pursuit to win a case! that's how they become judges! and get a out standing winning record! they remind me of a doctor who does abortion! they don't feel anything for the baby while they are chopping that poor child! plus they like to lie a lot,, you know how? by adding more fake charges to you! to see if either the judge or jury will bite on it!

At one time in the 90s I was behind a commercial vehicle that was swerving all over the road. Left the road in front of the hospital and took out a small tree. I pulled over at a business (this was before everyone had a cell phone) and called 911. I told them he was either drunk or had a medical problem. Gave 911 his tag numbers and the name and number of the business in the vehicle. At no time did it ever cross my mind to follow, detain or kill him. Did my duty as a witness and moved on.

It's not only minding her own business BUT disregarding the instructions from 911 dispatchers. I'm sure dispatchers are trained by materials that are based OFF EXPERIENCE and LAWS. For her to proceed anyway without complying just proves her level of INTENT. She was adamant that she was going to get him no matter what, so no "fear for her life". Even her ability to drive RECKLESSLY demonstrates that she cared little for anyone's life, while trying to stop the deceased. Most likely, her actions were influenced by the fact that she was "carrying".

Most closing arguments are 2-3 hours long, sometimes going into the next day. She only took 33 minutes, wow! This is the most methodical and eeffective closing argument ive heard from a prosecutor. I give this a solid 9. Only point i take away is her not putting the jurors in the victim's shoes to add that empathetic viewpoint. But based on evidence, she did her thing, man.

Hannah Payne got life in prison. 30 years is a life term in Georga. Those who committed serious violent felonies on or after July 1, 2006, must serve 30 years before being eligible for parole. Life in prison is mandatory for murder in Georgia. She got 30 years plus 13 years. That is 43 years. She will be eligible for parole when she is 68 if she does the 30 + 8+ 5.

That defense attorney needs to be called out for his horrible antics during that trial, the face gestures, non stop moving and other attention grabbing antics were a clear distraction tactic aimed at the jurors, did anyone see him shaking his head yes at the jurors when the Prosecuting attorney said Mr Herring had no escape route once Hannah blocked his truck with her Jeep, it's as tho he was telling the jurors ,yes he did with that head shake.... Did she really think the jury would believe her "self defense" claim? I mean how does she explain all the crap she caused that day? And it's crazy because I think she truly believes in her head that she didn't do anything wrong! It's like the one witness said, that after she shot him she looked all proud like she did something right. She's been playing the victim! She has some nerve acting like she was in fear for HER life! But she definitely thought she had a chance at trial to make it seem that way. And for her to think she was gonna win is just preposterous! The jury would never be able to overlook ALL the bad decisions she made that day. And what's ABSOLUTELY crazy about it all.... It wasn't even an accident she was involved in! She seriously acted like a road rager who was mad because THEY were in an accident! That's seriously how she acted towards him! I mean that's pretty much what she was.... A road rager! And all over NOTHING that had to do with her! But she turned it into HER problem.... How ludicrous. Look where it got her! And a poor guy killed. So unnecessary.... So senseless...
