I thought a cows minimum maintenance intake for dry matter was 2.5-3.5% depending on the season ams situation? Where did he get 2% as a reference?

What about beef cattle fooder plan and how much grains per day for beef cattle by their body weight

we use to feed dry cows about a gallon of rolled or ground chop oats a day. cows that had calves we use to up it to about 1.5 to gallons of rolled oats or ground chop oats per day or 1 or 1.5 gallons of barley chop or rolled per day or about 4 to 6 lbs for dry cows a day or 6 to 8 lbs for cows with calves on them . grain ration would depend on the quality of hay they are being fed too
