3 жыл бұрынWelcome back guys! In this vlog were gonna load up and head out to shoot with the Red River Valley Cowpokes in Albany, Ok. Their hosting the Oklahoma State Championship for the second time. Once again I was impressed at how hard they work to make each match better than the last! Congrats to the Toma's for another successful match!
Were covering day one of the match, it was rough but we made it, stay tuned for the finale in part 2!

Excellent! I shoot in my first state match (Tennessee) in just under three weeks. I've watched all your tip videos several times, and my practice has shown much improvement, especially in pistol and shotgun transitions. -Diamond Jake.

Excellent. I believe new shooters can benefit from your thoughts on how you approach a stage. Perhaps in the future, a video on Transitions through a set of stages, how to keep both hands moving, why you choose one way over another. But, this whole series has been great! McC

Deadeye, you do the sport and this vlog proud in every aspect of your talk-n-walk-n-shooting us through this match. I appreciate the speed in which you capture this match, and I know you must as well. I suggest that you might offer us both real-time and segments of slo-mo to permit some of us slowpokes to better capture in our mind's eye all the moves, transition, starts, and stops, please, sir. Thank you mighty. Go good and congrats on your big win at this major match.

Excellent video! I really like the vlog format and appreciate the mental game aspects you go over from stage to stage. I’m torn between having footage of the target layouts and just listening carefully to how you set it up in your head before shooting. Of course both would be great but I think I lean more towards hearing how you mentally prepare for each stage, target layouts always change, getting a mental game process in place is key.

I realized in the edit room I didn't have enough footage. Definitely learned alot from this shoot. No reason we can't talk about the stage and see it more clearly too!

@@DeadEyeCowboyActionShooting I really do like how you talk your way through the mental game though. I recommend your shotgun video to EVERY shooter I meet - the detail on what to focus on and moving your eyes at the right time are only taught by you and they are KEY to improving shotgun time. Hope to run into you in person sometime to shake your hand and say THANKS!

Deadeye, I have just recently gotten into cowboy action and I love your videos. What is the hammer spring weight on your pistols? I feel like the hammers on my fairly new New Vaqueros are a wrestle match.

Stock springs do suck, lol. I honestly can't remember but somewhere between 15-17lbs.

Browning straight stock is my preferred shotgun. I work on all my guns, sometimes that's the problem! Lol. Thanks for watching, glad to help

Thanks. Very fun video. Btw, Do Cowboy action matches ever have movement or reloads like three gun, or would it even be possible? My impossible dream match would have Cowboy Action, a fast draw like the old Howard Darby five balloon trick, some riding and shooting, Will Rogers quoting rope tricking jumping, and a stunt man fall finale off a roof like Burt Reynolds did way back at Maggie Valley Ghost town in the sky.

There are matches out there with much more movement but we don't get to "shoot on the move". Basically at least one foot planted and not making forward progress. There is still a lot of ways to make matches very dynamic though. We do reload rifles often, pistols not so much anymore. Match styles range widely, I would recommend checking out some of your local matches if you haven't already. You might just find what your looking for...
