Welcome back! In this Vlog were gonna follow 4 of our new(ish) competitors at the S.A.S.S. Oklahoma State Championship. This year for the first time being held in Cushing, Oklahoma at the Lincoln County Cowboys. We have an up and coming buckaroo and his dad, a doctor, and a new retiree just getting back into the sport after more than a decade off! Check it out to see how it all turns out!

Whew, lots of technical difficulties shooting this one! I have to give a big thanks to the Lever Action Kid, Dillon Blue, Doc Roja, and Verdigris for putting themselves out there like this! If you enjoyed the video give them a big round of applause. Without them this Vlog would have been DOA.

Great video Dead Eye! I’m just getting into this sport at 58. It’s fun to watch other people coming to the sport and seeing some of their struggles and successes. It gives me hope. I’m shooting at the Paradise Pass Regulators club where they held EOT last June. Absolutely a great club with great people to help me out getting started. Thank you for the advice and instruction you give on your videos. Great stuff!!

I enjoyed the focus on the newer shooters in this video. It was a fresh perspective and shows what can be accomplished with dedicated effort and practice. I too enjoyed the side by side "ghost" videos, those were awesome. (Now you just need to do a video about all of us 30+ second stage shooters. LOL!) As an aside, my wife and I re-watched the Land Run 2021 video again this week in preparation for our journey to Land Run 2022. While we have had that match on our radar for probably the last 10 years, we could never put the pieces together to make the journey. Your Land Run video, and the fact that it will be the 2022 National Championship, inspired us to make that journey and we were lucky enough to make the cut. As I mentioned in the Land Run thread on the Wire, I have been through Oklahoma a couple of times, flown over Oklahoma a whole bunch of times, but this will be my first stay in Oklahoma! Looking forward to the trip and to seeing you in the Shoot-Off! Dogmeat

Very nice video! I loved that you showed all levels of new shooters plus your runs. I also noticed that you are not shooting crossdraw anymore, is there a reason you switched back? (In your April 2021 Land Run video you shot crossdraw and in one of your early videos you said you switched to crossdraw because you liked how it worked for your style of shooting.) Are those Verdigris holsters? He mentioned 3 state champions were wearing holsters he made.

Yes, they are a prototype rig. Right now I'm looking to blend the different philosophies of the two rigs. That and it's hard to keep pistols in a crossdraw when you move like I do, 😆

Pioneer super short, C&I aluminum carrier, wire lifter/lever springs(forget who made them), one piece firing pin, coil spring extractor, 66 hammer, Roy's Creek flat spring, and slix flat trigger. From what I can remember off the top of my head.

Very nicely done. Interesting take on focusing on relatively new shooters, something we don't see very often. Great camera angles and the "replay" was a really cool video feature. Really enjoyed watching this VLOG and will certainly be watching future ones as well.

I've had a 1851 colt navy replica I bought like 10 years ago. Just recently getting it figured out, what loads it likes etc.. its been fun. Next is making my own powder for it.

I've always wanted to get into this. I've been doing the muzzleloader thing for a decade or so... need to get some new iron it seems. I'm in Shawnee, transplant from OH, so it's really nice to know there's a good group not too far away.
