My favorite thing about the world of Cowboy Bebop is how _un-impressed_ everyone is with technology in a space-scifi. Everyone treats their spaceships like used cars, no one cares that they're living in a city on an asteroid(!!!), and even using a super-cool spacesuit is treated with a casual shrug. And the technology - it's used, dirty, gritty, and sometimes obsolete. I think the reason I appreciate the look of Rogue One, and could never really reconcile the look of the Prequels when they came out, was because it finally looked _real._ It had just enough grime and dust and wear on 'em to actually look like stuff that's commonly used and isn't a big deal to the people who live with them.

Datadogs are modified dogs that have human-like intellect. Ein can understand what humans say as Spike yelling at him to shut up, and shutting up as a result (on the last episode), but can also operate things, like him pressing the buttons on the car he was in to open the door. He even barks once for YES and twice for NO. TLDR: MAX INT lvl doggo with STR and DEX as a dump stat because, well...he's a corgi.

Music plays a major part in the style of this show. Every episode has a musical theme to it in a different style, with the titles of each episode referencing it. Jazz, classic rock, metal, and so on. The movie, for example, is also known as "Knocking on Heaven's Door"

The name of the sessions are music styles (Asteroid Blues, Ballad of Fallen Angels, Heavy Metal Queen, etc.), dance styles (Gateway Shuffle), movies (Pierrot Le Fou) and song names (including the session #2, "Stray Dog, Strut" is a reference to the song "Stray Cat, Strut")

Fun fact the big shot cowboy guy is voiced by Paul St. Peter who Aarron might recognize as the guy who voices Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts 👌🏽

Re-watching this again for the commentary. This show holds up. A few other great shows from this era hold up just as well. Trigun and Wolf's Rain are also amazing from this era

Even though it is episodic, it really should be watched in order... and all the plot details get revealed over the course of the show. You learn so much about all the character and the world itself.

Couldn't help but notice, that beeping sound effect when Fey pressed buttons on her bracelet is a sound sample from Space 1999. Communicator sound I think. An old but venerable Space Scifi show. I was a big fan so the sound just caught my ear.

Faye is my favorite in this series, probably more so than Spike, just a little. I remember this, I watched this when I was in my early teens and to this day, Faye is probably one of the best waifus out there.. one of the best characters for sure..

The thing is the story, although episodic, has little things that connect the world from episode to episode - that drive the story towards it's eventual conclusion.

I doubt they read these comments. But if they do, all I'll say is Faye's backstory will be revealed.
