Cowboy bebop existed before Kill bill though so It's more original than Kill Bill. And clearly Quentin took inspirations from anime.

I'm so happy with how this turned out. I was highly skeptical at first but the cast, directing, vfx, set designs just nail it.

i'm impressed how John Cho understands Faye and Jet's character so very well. i'm waiting to see how much they put effort into the show. i still don't trust live-action adaptation. but i think i can see a good passion and good chemistry from them. (I don't want to expect too much right now. but if they do it well. that's good. both for them and for fans)

He described Jet as kind to a fault which I don't think it's true. Jog my memory, it's been a long time since I've seen the series but I don't think his kindness ever led anyone to trouble.

I was skeptical at first, especially watching Cho's interview last year. I'm glad he watched the anime. I'm a bit hopeful now for this live action.

Also funny how many people never watched the anime and are dogpiling, or even people who rush-watched it just last week in order to have some semblance of an original opinion towards the live action. There's a bunch to be dissected, critiqued and improved, but the show definitely deserves a second season. I, for one, thought it was gonna be a dumpster fire..and an amazed it's a fun watch with a ton of respect to the original source.

@@gabeux Precisely, I think it handled narrative better than the original, especially with the decisions characters make - i.e. why they keep Ein. In the original, it's not clear why they keep Ein instead of selling it. But in the adaptation it's painted in a portrait that Jet keeps Ein because of his daughter asked if she can still see Ein. That's brilliant, it's a minor details, but a powerful one because the audience can see how much he cares about his daughter. Whereas the anime only has 30 minutes, Netflix has 1 hour to establish points like these and if they use it wisely, I'm fine with the original choices they take.

@@Strawberry_Angelic I'm in a Cowboy Bebop Fb Group some of the comments were so nasty like how she's shaped like a refrigerator, has no boobs, or that she's short. Really below the belt comments. I've seen some of these comments on Netflix's FB too.

The intro was literally so good to be the live action version of the anime, the cast seems to had fun making this show, which hopefully it’s quite good.

I honestly wasn't loving the intro, but it does seem they understand the show and characters from this interview so I'm a tad hopeful. I feel they really tap into the fun of it, just hope they can with the darker and deeper parts as well.

I find the hate for Faye's new clothing laughable. Seriously. The anime costume might be fine for a cartoon, but it's completely ludicrous for a live-action piece. I really like what she's wearing now. Much more practical for the kind of work she's involved in.

I really really hope Daniella watched the Anime, the movies and the manga. Faye is definitely my favorite character unapologetic abrasive femme fatale who's not afraid of using her looks to get what she wants but underneath it all is a fragile girl trying to find out who she is and searching for a place where she belongs. Her character development in the anime was just damn good.

John has a really got grip of the characters and their inner workings!! His emotional intelligence is very high!! Also Mustafa and Daniella look really good as their characters💞 hopefully for once a live action doesn't disappoint

I feel spike versus vicious plus Julia was just an obligation. Feels flimsy next to Faye's arc which is the emotional heart of the show to me

Anime fans have been burned before by live-action adaptations, but I feel like this is being given an unfair shake in many ways. I think I'm going to enjoy this so long as the actors bring wit, humor, action, and jazz to the mix since I already see nods to so many other aspects of the series.

I don’t think they forgot about Edward. I think it’s a big surprise. I like the faye they choose it’s not about the “look” as in how they put themselves into a character and develop it from there.

Dani is so fine! She can pass as a Singaporean girl. She even sounds like the English anime version! I’m all in for this speaking as a kid who first watched the show back in 2003 when I was 13.

They have to be Cowboy Bebop without actually just rehashing cowboy bebop. So even if it was a sequel or prequel anime, it would be getting the same skepticism it is getting right now. They seem excited though and the visuals look good so here's to hoping for the best.

Daniella reminds me of Kat Dennings in the best possible way. Two beautiful hilarious women… Also, I’m pretty excited for this! Cho is a badass, he’s intelligent and respectful of the material, he’s handsome and charming enough to be Spike… I’m all in.

Obviously you never can nail a real life remake to match the original but the fact that mustafas voice on the live show sounds so much like his characters voice in the anime is so comforting to me for some reason lmao. I don’t like change too much and his voice made me alot more accepting of the show.

I have a lot of faith in the cast. They all seemed to have studied their characters well and judging just by the set photos, they really seemed to have captured the essence of their characters. Hell, John Cho even seems like he's doing a bit of a Spike voice in this video! The only thing that makes me doubt this production is the studio behind it...

@@rememberthisname9965 I was at first, but after seeing the promotional shots, the one thing that stood out to me immediately was just how much of John Cho's body language was perfectly "Spike". Weirdly, he became the biggest point of intrigue for me.

I only wish Ed was in the series! I'm gonna watch it with an open mind, hopefully the honour the core theme of the anime and focus on the characters' backstories/family dynamic because that was what fans loved

I couldn't wish for a better end result! The live action remake of the original Anime series is truly amazing! 🙏🤩😊 I bought the original anime series on DVD special edition set with an art book,15 years ago and have watched it a lot since then! And I still love it! 😁😉 It is an amazing series! Go watch it! (I did almost got an heard attack, when I first found out they were gonna make a live action remake) 😖😅 But it all came together! 🌹😉

That opening credits reveal was amazing, I had already accepted that they might only loosely base it from the anime but man was I surprised. There's so much love for the source material that deviating from it wouldn't make sense, and I think they knew that. Still saving judgement for when it actually comes out, but I so badly want this to be the masterpiece that it can be, that it ought to be.

This is one show I go into wanting to love more than any before. Must admit, when I first heard of this, I was very interested in finally seeing bountiful Faye in her tiny outfit. Should've guessed it would be taken out for being sexist instead of sexy. It's definitely not the anime. Storylines tend to be a little predictable. But it could be much worse.
