I've only seen Ken's videos a few times, but loved them. I'll be sure to check more now. -- I'm Texan, with extended elatives from Virginia and Oklahoma, so cowboy, Southwestern, and Tex-Mex cooking are among favorites for me, and I love the stuff Townsends does, both for the Appalachian angle and the historical Colonial roots. -- My relationship with religion has been difficult for years, but I still pray, and on some level, that's still there for me, amidst all the doubts and questions and frustrations. But I so appreciate the emphasis on making people feel better and giving them a sense of belonging as friends and family. -- Thanks to both Townsends and Cowboy Ken Rolllins and their teams of folks for this neat collab. Wonderful stuff, folks. Keep up the good work. The pandemic is still kicking everyone's butt and keeps hanging on. So people need this kind of support, entertainment, and food for thought. Thanks, y'all.

Honestly, I would absolutely love to see a pair of time travel crossover episodes where John's channel showcases settlers migrating westward and cooking some dishes they may have hunted for along the way, then we fast forward to Kent's channel where we see how those 18th century influences affected and shaped how cowboys would have eaten similar [or improved versions of those] dishes. With both of them kitted up appropriately for each era, of course! Even if it winds up being something like role-playing both the settlers finding a home on Townsends and then role-playing as the descendants of those settlers on Cowboy Kent's. Something like, "Ya know, my grandpa told me that once upon a time..." stories while cookin' up dinner and reflecting upon how their forefathers came to the land.

Kent on a wood stove with basic ingredients to make a great meal one way or the other. With John, it’s open fires, outside ovens, with recipes from way back. Our forefathers survived on these meals you fixed. It’s always a great idea to be able to make a meal with simple ingredients. You guys are awesome.
