In place of jalapenos, we use Tennessee pride hot sausage, even tho i'm from rural Ky. We had them last week at deer camp, delicious, & can't beat Wisconsin butter & cheese. You know he is good when his appetizers are better than some people's complete meals. Love the dogs looking up to see what is going on. If the dogs are that interested in it you know its going to be good, Dogs are very good judges of people and food. I saw a sticker on a truck "If my dog doesn't like you I probably won't either"

So cool - I just made a huge batch of sausage cheese balls for tomorrow!! On holidays, they're a favorite, & you must grate cheese & not use the bagged grated cheese!! Use a small cookie scoop - saves a TON of time 😁

I learned to make these 42 years ago when as a kid I went to work for a company that sold them. I sometimes flatten the balls to like a palm sized biscuit, so people can slice them open and eats them with homemade apple butter or milk gravy. During Christmas, I keep a large batch of these in the freezer, (they freeze great), and that way no one is ever more than a half hour away from having one if they want it.

My mother's Family is from Redbird and Muskogee. Irish and Native American . My great grandmothers sister married a 'Rollins' in Oklahoma. My grandma passed in 2009' she moved to Colorado when she was a kid. Most of the family from Denver has passed. God bless you and your family Mr. Rollins!

i started making them a couple of months ago without the heat my 5 year old grandson loves them. i love them also. One of these times i am going to try adding syrup to a few of the to see how the turn out. That would be great if a i can get away without having to sever syrup with them. And also they not being sticking. Still a great on he go food. warm them up in the microwave int the morning.

My grandmother has made sausage balls with a secret recipe for almost 35 years now. Ken's recipe gives it a run for the money! We won't tell her though ;)
