This is a fair contract here. Six years at 300 million. That is 50 million per year. You guarantee 150 million which is half the contract. And then he hast to earn the other 150 and this is what I mean. he has to make the pro bowl after the third year which will guarantee the fourth year. And then he hast to make the pro the fourth year to guarantee the fifth year. And then he has to make the pro bowl the fifth year guarantee the six year. And if he doesn’t make the pro bowl in any of the last three years. Then instead of a guarantee, it turns into a team option.that is fair for everybody involved. You’re welcome. Jerry Jones needs to start listening to me.

I’d usually be with you but this one is actually interesting. Like Danny noted it’s completely unprecedented, regardless of playoff success or lack thereof, to draft a QB, develop him into a Pro Bowler, and then decide at age 30 right after a career year “ehh… do we REALLY want to pay this guy??” Like we as fans/haters are supposed to have that as a hot take, but the front office isn’t supposed to be making decisions based on how WE feel about THEIR team 🤣💀

Or he stat pads when the game is already out of hand and gets a bunch of garbage time stats. thats why every year in the playoffs they fold, cuz those teams arent the commanders or giants anymore. its not hard to understand. I mean feel free to pay him 60 mil, but like they said, if hes not winning with 40 mil, hes not gonna win at 60.

The salary cap shot up because of sports betting. I think there is some new found caution because it isn't going to always rise this much and qbs are taking all the newfound cap space. You can't win like that with less money going around without a patrick mahomes, andy Reid, and Brett veech drafts. Even then the chiefs struggled much more than usual last year. Are you comfortable paying Dak more than Mahomes and have less talent and worse coaching around him? Or you can go SF route and move that money to other skill positions and get a good qb on a cheaper deal to compete

12-5 just to get slapped by green bay in the first round of the playoffs ya what a accomplishment. Doesn't matter what their record is in the regular season they just cant win two playoff rounds in January to get to a NFC championship game. How much more choking do they need to do.

The cowboys arguably had their best regular season in ages, dak had an MVP year and they literally had 7 all pros and a top 2 defense just to get first rounded. The eagles had their worst year in a decade and one of the worst mid season collapses ever and still managed 1 less win than Dallas for the same result. One team completely overhauled their coaching staff, had an amazing offseason in the draft and free agency and extended their star players long term coming off their worst season. The other team made no roster moves, had an ok draft and got a new DC. It’s literally a no brainer on who should be the favorite: the team that already hit their ceiling and arguably got worse or the team that hit rock bottom and only got better (reminder one went 12-5 in their best season and one went 11-6 in their worst season and both were 1st round exits)…

I’m not a Dak guy but he definitely seems to be improving each year. He was in mvp convos last year with McCarthy calling the plays and I thought he really took a step forward. I think a deal will get done

Why would paying Dak make the Cowboys the NFC favorite? They weren’t even close in the past 8 years when he was considerably cheaper. Also, if you want to talk about precedent, there’s no precedent for paying a QB 20% of your cap space actually improving your team.

That stat they showed is that much more of an indictment against Dak_ Every team on that list reached the Conference Championship Game EXCEPT Dallas_ and the common denominator of the other 4 teams?? All 4 have/had a QUARTERBACK that has shown some level of PLAYOFF "DAWG IN THEM"..!! Dallas will not be a true contender untill they can find a QUARTERBACK WITH THE HIGH LEVEL PORTION OF THE DAWG MENTALITY!!!! PERIOD.🙄🤷🤷

@@jakewaggoner7641 That's true, but those teams also have a Quarterback they know they can believe/trust in too_ Those quarterbacks are bonafide leaders/generals on the field and their teammates do the best they can not to let them down_ Dak is NOT that kind of leader/general when you need him to be the most ready in big moments of high-staked games in the month of January. Even if Dallas had "elite" coaching, it still wouldn't solve the puzzle for them cuz of the lack of big-game pressure fortitude Dak simply doesn't have... That's the problem!!!

So many qb’s getting crazy money that don’t deserve anywhere near the amount they get. There should be a cap space percentage ceiling on all positions, especially the qb, and heading toward wr and edge rushers as well. You can’t hamstring your ability to win because your qb, wr, and edge rusher takes up a majority or your cap space. If you are unable to put a good team around them because of money, how is that good for anybody?

The stat is almost irrelevant. It comes down to how all teams finish the season. The division games are important, but so are the rest of the games.

I honestly think it really depends on his play in the postseason if the Cowboys make it. If he plays well and takes them to a conference final they'll resign him. If he flops in the playoffs again or they somehow miss he's moving on to another team.
