C'mon Brou! You can't analyze the Bridges trade based on the number of draft picks the Knicks gave up and ignore that the Knicks traded NO players. To get Mitchell Cleveland traded: 3 unprotected first round picks 2 pick swaps Lauri Markkanen Colin Sexton Ochai Agbaji To get Durant Phoenix traded: Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, first-round picks in 2023, 2025, 2027 and 2029, and a first-round pick swap in 2028. To get Gobert the Timberwolves traded: Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Leandro Bolmaro, Walker Kessler (No. 22 pick in 2022 Draft), Jarred Vanderbilt and • 2023 first-round pick • 2025 first-round pick • 2026 pick swap • 2027 first-round pick • 2029 first-round pick The Kicks did not give up ANY proven talent.

The Knicks didn't receive any proven talent. Mikal is a far below all-star level offensive player, and has been declining as a defensive player. Even if he somehow rediscovers himself on offense and/or defense, he's still not worth 5 picks. Few players are, and Mikal isn't close to that.

this trade was honestly a steal for the Knicks. for a playoff team in the NBA, picks are worth very little. so getting a player like Bridges for basically only picks is incredible. the East might actually be a good conference next year if the Bucks and Sixers are healthy.

all those other trades Broussard talked about with less picks being used also had a lot of players involved, while Knicks only parted with Bojan. So yes Phoenix gave up less picks to get Durant but they also gave up Mikal Bridges. Broussard never reports on the Knicks fairly.

The Knicks have zero of their 1st rounders playing on their roster. 4 of their players are 2nd rounders. They have a young nucleus that will be growing for another 5 years, at least. Only the 2031 1st is probably "too much", but even then, Mikal was worth it.

Randle fits into this by giving the Knicks a low post presence. The two man game with Brunson is established and now adding another really great cutter off the ball in Bridges, adds a whole new dynamic to an already good offense.

Agreed on Randle. When he plays bullyball, he absolutely commands a double team. The Knicks now match up well defensively with Boston, but neither Brown nor Tatum have any chance against Randle in the post. Advantage Knicks in the post...advantage Celtics shooting from the center position. Very interesting!

They compare the picks traded for other all-stars, but forget to mention the players included for that all-star. Utah received Lauri Markennan(all-star),Colin sexton, and ogbaji+picks for dmitch. Utah received Kessler,Vanderbilt,Beasley,bolmaro,Beverly+picks for Gobert. Nets received 35 year old bogi +picks for bridges. The picks were to avoid giving up core players

I can get pointing out KD, but even then he's ignoring KD's injury history vs Mikal never missing a game in his career, KD's age, and KD's salary. Getting KD would have meant giving up Julius and probably Deuce along with Bojan just to make the money match.

Jrue was such a game-changer for the Celtics. If they stay healthy, they should win one of the next two titles, and it'll be incredibly hard for anyone else in the East to break through until 2027 probably. Celtics have four players who have been all-stars still in prime years. 4! Stacked. I see this Knicks team's ceiling as the ECF. Love the Bridges trade though, he's a really good player.

The Knicks still have 5 first round picks in the next 3 years and 11 first rounders in the next 7 years. So no they still can make moves if they want too. This isn’t the end of the road. But they don’t need to do nothing else but get their big man situation in order

Why is everyone saying how is Randle gonna fit now that they have bridges? Bridges isn’t a ball dominant offensive guy and Randle fit just fine last season after the OG trade. Easily a 20 10 guy and their only other all star. The Knicks started to turn things around when Randle got there. He was there before Brunson and they made the playoffs as the #1 guy. Do not trade him!
