The 2024 NFL Draft is officially in the books and it’s time to name the Cowboys biggest winners and losers after the Draft. The Cowboys drafted 8 players and quickly signed three others in NFL Free Agency, which has changed the current landscape of the Cowboys under Mike McCarthy as he enters a contract year. I hope his speed sticks tho, or at least similar. He had great down hill speed, and coverage ability, I understand bulking up because you get a power back, and these 220 lb LBs are gonna get ran over. But we need coverage from our LBs as well, Lee was the last time we had a decent coverage linebacker, and he wasn’t ever the greatest at coverage

I think we should try using Jalen Brooks more 🤷‍♂️ make him wr 3 or 4 I’ve liked what I’ve seen when he’s played, he’s not very fast and we do need speed but still I think we should use him more, he’s got good hands and decent route running

Tolbert needs a good year to be on this team next. He looked better toward the end of last season so maybe there's some progress. Slow growers don't hang around forever.

Damon Clark is an average Linebacker at best to many up and down games. His biggest worry is that he like unfortunately for Dallas is one neck injury from retiring. A player like that cannot Play with reckless abandon. Which is how great to good linebackers Play. LVE. When i jured became hesirant and reacted late to runs inside and lost speed to outside. First two years good to great after injury not a shadow of himself. Clark never as good as LVE. At one point LV.E.and Jaylon were top dúo in NFL. I juries dereailed their careers. That's why we needed more than kendricks in free agency. And then we could have gone after a good RB. Since we blew it big time not signing Derrick HENRRY. TANKING TO GET DAK TO LOWER SALARY DEMANDS. HE WITHOUT GOOD RUNNING GAME 100 YDS. OR MORE HAS A POOR WINNING RECORD UNDER 100 YDS . RUSHING.

We keep forgetting. Diggs will be back. Overshown will be back. We replaced LVE and drafted to RBS last year. Go through the roster.. Tolbert will have a chance now with Gallup and his money gone. Mazi and schoon were drafted early.. let the play and develop. Richard's as well. I understand why they didn't go crazy in FA... I mean are we really mad our C is gone? He couldn't get any push.. weak. Brooks at WR should step forward as well. I think this team is just fine. Will that correlate to a SB? idk and honestly don't care. We are a good football team and I'd rather that than a 4-13 Panthers team that is consistently picking early

...so we have to wait for the 3-4 teams that THOUGHT they were going to be playoff teams this year to fall flat to free up a tradable RB? Every year there are those teams that made the playoffs the year before and don't make it the next year...but as the saying goes, if you don't have that crazy friend, YOU'RE the crazy friend. I'm hoping the passing game and the D will carry us, and once Lamb is extended they'll be a little more cap space to add a couple of FA's like Gilmore and maybe Calais Campbell on a 1 year prove it deal (wishful thinking, I know...)?

Thanks for the video. I don't see any reason to cut or trade Damone Clark. He's not a bad linebacker. He's just not played well. He seems to be a guy who has never quite gotten past them finding a problem with his neck during the combine. I agree with you that he's relegated to LB4, but that's not necessarily bad. Eric Kendricks is at the age where he could lose a step at any time. Damone Clark could play well and be in a position to be LB3 again within a year. DeMarvion Overshown may or may not fully recover, so Damone Clark could be as high as LB2. I would not trade Damone Clark. I don't think that the Cowboys would get enough to make the trade worthwhile. I could see Elliot starting for the Cowboys as RB1. I don't like that outcome, but I think it could happen. That would appease Prescott, and the team does too much of appeasing Prescott. The Cowboys need another defensive tackle. I don't know whether they'll get one. The Cowboys will have a big competition among the offensive linemen. At this point, I don't think the Josh Ball or Matt Waletzko will make the team. Josh Ball has played a bit, but no one sees him as contributing to a future playoff run. Matt Waletzko seemed to have talent but can't stay healthy. In many ways, I'd rather keep Earl Bostick Jr. if he shows promise for the future than keep Josh Ball if he seems to have peaked in his contributions. Nothing points to 2024 as a Super Bowl year for the Cowboys. No one on the roster right now is likely to play left tackle as well as Tyron Smith did when he was healthy. Several of these players may be better at left tackle in 2025 than Tyron Smith was in 2023, but that doesn't help us in 2024. I'm not sure that any of these players will be as good at center as Tyler Biadasc was in 2023. Again, several of them could be better centers by 2025, but that doesn't help us in 2024. Terence Steele might be more recovered and better in 2024 than he was in 2023, but we don't know. Zack Martin will be a year older in 2024 than he was in 2023. Martin is still very good, but nothing about the offensive line looks better in 2024 except for their potential to be great in 2025. If the young players show enough promise for the future, I'd rather trade Zack Martin for draft picks. If the Cowboys are unlikely to win in 2024, then they'd be better off preparing for 2025, 2026, and 2027. If I'm looking for trade bait on the defensive side, my candidates would be DeMarcus Lawrence, Sam Williams, and Malik Hooker. The Cowboys have a large number of edge players. Most of them aren't that good, but the team has plenty of them. I'd rather trade one of them for picks than trade any linebackers. I don't think Malik Hooker will still be playing when the Super Bowl window opens. I'd rather trade him for draft picks.

No more "coach's pets" draft picks. Coaches leave or get fired all the time and you're stuck with their pets on your roster. e.g. Trysten Hill, Nahshon, Kelvin Joseph, Fehko, Scott, Reggie Robinson, etc.

Even if any of our RB is this group make a breakout, have the cowboys really given any RB the idea that they’d truly be valuable to them? Cowboys are getting the reputation, I’m sure as NOT a place to go over the last three years for most positions unfortunately. You are way premature in designating Beebe as the starting center. He has literally zero game snaps at that position. It's not simple to perfect a snap/block technique. Brock has two years in the system and is a natural center. Will you admit you were wrong when Brock wins the job?

Maybe Brock starts off but that’d be a big mistake and Beebe was prepared to be a center and has been taking reps at center throughout this season at Washington

@CptFB77 Washington? And a few snaps in practice isn't nearly the same as game speed in the NFL. Again, Beebe played guard and tackle at K-State. I believe he's going to be a really good player. However, assuming he's going to walk in and start at center is simply foolish. We shall see.

It is going to be running back by committee (oh whoa) but it’s gonna work this time, because it’s been tested and tried before in extensive experiments; and this is the first real time go around… if you can’t understand that, maybe you should just not report football.
