It's true that he was probably being as negligent and careless as his boy but it doesn't change the fact he is now in a higher position and has to ensure compliance with policy.

I remembered when I was working at Walmart my homeboy got promoted and I got my first write up ever because I was explaining to a new associate-how to use a pallet Jack my homeboy came up with his chest puffed out saying that’s not the Walmart way we can’t talk if he needed help he should ask a manager instead and mind you me and my homeboy just played basketball the week before the write up man completely changed 😂

I just recently got promoted to manager and I’m a firm believer in leading by example and I make sure that I am working the most hours and doing things that can’t get done due to time constraints so that my people can work their shift and not have overtime and it’s a lot of work but I have worked in this place for years and I’ve never seen the employees so motivated and working so hard. If you aren’t willing to do it yourself don’t ask someone else to do it.

Too many times I've seen managers fuck about and dodge responsibility as much as possible to shove the work off on the people below them.

When I became manager at the theater, I tried to be more chill. Employees straight up took advantage. They were away from concession too long, auditoriums weren't getting cleaned. Some decided to go through the mall without my permission while they were on the clock. I had to put my foot down and start micromanaging.

I got one co worker who went from cashier to supervisor and lemme tell you I respect this man he still remained the same as he was when he was just an associate. I love working on his shift because he’s hella chill and doesn’t try to do that extra shit. My mom also has a friend who will be friends with you but when it’s time to work she don’t fuck around I think it’s a mix of if you have a chill manager don’t ruin it it’s like I told my supervisor snitches are the reason why we get asshole managers.

One of my coworkers became a supervisor a couple of years ago and it really didn't change a thing. We worked together for almost 20 years before he decided to get off the road and move inside with a supervisor position. We always liked and respected each other and still do. He just recently decided to transfer to another office because his boss has been having him do the work of 2 supervisors because he knows his job and gets it done right. I'm actually going to miss him because who knows what kind of pain is going to replace him.

As someone that moved up to supervisor and I used to f off with the best of them I get it haha. It does suck having to crack down on the same people that you f off with on doing the same stuff you used to do but as a supervisor your under a lot more heat from higher ups and I ain’t about to lose food on my table for other people not doing their job. It’s all about how to present it though and don’t forget where you came from. At the same time they should respect that you got a job to do also.

The same thing happened to me while I worked at Walmart. Me and a friend would constantly talk about how everyone’s lazy as hell and why do we have to help people that are on their phones all night after we got our tasks done. We would talk about how we only did our tasks and then fuck around the rest of the night cuz we were tired of doing everyone else’s work. Well, that bitch went for the support position (which is like assistant manager) and that very next week called me into the back office with the manager that hated me, talking about “we know you can do more”. I couldn’t believe it. I threw my name badge and box cutter at them and left. The support before him was friend turned bitch too lol

Trust me if you are known as a bad seed, they always watching, and watching you on camera . This was me when I got promoted at McDonald’s kinda, the GM would get mad and tell me I’m a manager now and I can’t be doing the same stuff as the crew so I was company man until the GM left for the night and pretty much let the crew do whatever within reason. My co-worker pulled this power trip on me for a travel job. The dude was a nightmare, I refused to work with him again. Now I'm in charge of this job in Amsterdam and they sent me a young guy to assist me. I don't care what the paper says what to do. We do it my way. Our job is tough, so we need to be good physically and mentally. I make sure we take real breaks! After lunch we need time for the food to settle. Time apart from each other is important. Need to talk to loved ones. Go do it. I need your mind to be clear of everything. Also enough sleep is important and we make time to have fun.
