In this vlog I am exploring Cowpens National Battlefield in South Carolina USA. This is a site of the Revolutionary War between the USA and Britain. This was a site where the American Troops surrounded and pushed back the Red Coats and fought off the attacks of the British.
In this video I attempt to show the area where this happened, and give a bit of history regarding what occurred on this site.
This battlefield is part of the Revolutionary War (1781) which struck within the United States. This is the spot where Daniel Morgan flanked the British (Tarleton's) army. The Americans's used a double envelope technique, one of the few times used in history.
Down the center of the battlefield is the Green River Road.

Hey Josh, you are beating me to some of the National Parks! Still need to get to that one! Great video, looks like you had a fun day enjoying the history and privacy.

Haha, I guess that will happen from time to time! Yeah, it was a really quiet day there (although I'm not sure how popular of a location this one is). It's not really near any big city, so I'm sure the crowds are always limited. It is in a beautiful location though - lots of mountains and stuff around. The next handful or two videos are going to be in that area of the US - all around that chain of mountains.

Thanks so much! That is a very beautiful area! I have a bunch of videos coming up from SC, NC and TN. I lived in TN for a couple years, so that area does have a special meaning for me! Haha yeah, the turkeys were neat! I love it when we come across animals we weren't expecting!

That was a good summary of the battle. always wanted to stop there on the way to Tennessee. cool place and worth the stop. That was funny she got scared of the silhouette of the sniper. and the side kick is a classic my kids were always amazed how i did that when they were little.

It's a nice little park. The movie in the visitor center really helped explain a lot. Seems like a very quiet place - although it may be busier in the summer, but I don't think this is much of a tourist destination. It was nice to see, and always fun to get out and explore. Haha, yeah, I could see why she jumped - it did look like a person from further away!

So glad you enjoyed it! It's a neat little spot. They had maps for those who were going to drive and get out, but since we came at the end of the day, all we could do were the walking trails, so it was pretty much walking the interior and didn't show the stopping points. In hindsight, I suppose we could have taken a driving map to make sure we hit all the spots by walking, but a little late for that now!! lol.

Haha yup! Wasn't very excited about the prospect it was a bear, lol. The trail was nice and relaxing indeed! There was no one else there that day, so it was nice to stroll around and enjoy the outdoors!

Lol, My Grandfather lived a stone's throw from there. We went there all the time. I can even remember what it looked like before the visitor's center was put there. All it is, is a field. That is it. I would much rather visit the "Star Fort" that is nearby. It is a much better site.
@DestinationEarth
@DestinationEarth 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we went sure what to expect. Whenever you visit a new battlefield or battle area it can be hit and miss. Although we enjoyed the walk and the video in the visitor center, the site itself didn't have much to offer interest wise. Never heard of the Star Fort! Wish I would have known when we went!
