WNBA announcement aside, the fact is, downtown cannot cram any further events or attention that is continually paid to the downtown core of Toronto. The point being that, you can only cram so much activity in to any one location, before it becomes unsustainable, unenjoyable to get to, or from. That fact, to start to spread the wealth of activities around Toronto, instead of solely having the monopoly of every single event ever conceived, in the downtown. That is, for all intensive purpose’s , controls economic activity. It keeps the downtown rich in economic activity and other places poor. It keeps city council and it’s elected member’s solely focussed on downtown for the majority of time spent. Downtown Toronto sucks a huge amount of the city budget and time, which in turn leave every where else as an afterthought. You have to start building and spreading venues outside of a downtown that is already overburdened with construction, concert’s, sports event’s, protest’s , and on and on it goes. 🇨🇦✌🏼🇨🇦✌🏼🇨🇦✌🏼🇨🇦🤨
