Railroads change. We all know this, we've all seen it firsthand.
I've lived my entire life on the Delaware & Hudson, which is owned by Canadian Pacific Railway. Throughout the month of April 2023, I witnessed a great amount of change to my home rails, from Amtrak's return to KCS power beginning to roam the combined Canadian Pacific Kansas City system.
Filmed in March and April 2023 around Plattsburgh, NY.
Thanks for watching! If you haven't already, please subscribe and hit the bell to stay up to date on my new adventures.

"It all could change tomorrow." Truer words were never spoken Harrison, veteran railfans going all the way back to Lucius Beebe have been saying that for decades and it's all so painfully true. As I get older I've realized change is inevitable, 50% of it's good, 50% of it sucks, but what can you do? Accept it, adjust to it, and continue the march. It is sad to see Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern, two old and famous names become another entity with soulless reporting marks like CSX and BNSF. CPKC? Can't they do better? Anyway, another great video from you Harrison! Sure, do a Part Two, you never disappoint!

25:49, it is crazy how much it has changed. I grew up with CP D&H action through the north & south end with SD40s and such. I guess we just have to enjoy it while it lasts.

What I like to watch on these videos from different parts of North America are trains with Irving lumber on it. Although Irving or as it's known in Canda JDI is a Canadian based company, they are the 5th largest land owners in the United States with their woodlands holding mostly in the State of Maine. So far the furthest west I've seen the JDI lumber cars is in Ohio. Good to see KCS power getting further North, hopefully we'll see some KCS power up here in Saint John, New Brunswick on the container trains the CPKC will be picki8ng here. Up here in Saint John, we went from the Eastern Terminus of CP to an almost dead city with a few CN train, we lost our passenger service from /VIA in the late 80s, then JDI started the New Brunswick Southern on the old CP right-of-way and now with NBSR combining with CPKC and CN we have a thriving port again, 4 container cranes, the largest oil refinery in Canada, a potash termial and loads of rail traffic, what could be better.

You're gonna see a lot of Grey Ghosts! I live within a 4 mile radius of a CPKC line, and it's always cool to document these fallen flag locomotives. Hopefully CPKC does something like BNSF did many years ago: leave their pre-merger power largely unpatched, for generations of railfans to enjoy!

Still not a single grey ghost down this way but plenty of the newer scheme. Caught one just today on 528.

Awesome catches. I miss the CP of my youth. The station at the junction is gone and the branchline rails have been lifted. Now more lifts at Medonte on the McTier sub😢
