I bought an x star used both batteries that came with it were unusable. I have taken the top cap of my battery off and will split open. Thank you very helpful

John, Thanks for the video. Do you have more information on repairing the battery? I have 10 batteries and I think only 1 or 2 still work.

I too am looking to refurbish my drone batteries, I found a 5000 mah 14.8 lipo 4 cell with a discharge rating of 50 for about $50.00. I've been looking to find the stock discharge rate as that is the real power of the battery. Does anyone happen to know what the stock discharge rating is. Love your video on how to take it apart...

Hi John. You wouldn’t happen to have an extra charger you can see me do you? I lose mine in a move and autel is telling me they won’t stock them anymore!!!!! 😭

Oof! Let me see if I kept the batteries. At the time I made the video I did find some packs that seemed to match up, but I have since moved on to more supportable hardware.

@@johncabrer2328 thank you. I am trying to find out where I can purchase the mating connector to this battery so I can try to recondition my X-star batteries with the RC type battery chargers if a potential replacement battery can not be retrofitted in place of the existing one.

@@doanhtran4651 I was thinking of doing the same thing. I have an extra charger so I can bastardize that I guess. My question would be does that battery connection apply voltage directly to the battery or is the controller involved. It appears to me that the extra (non + or -) connector on the charger is actually empty, I can't see any contacts in it, this makes me think it may be possible. Has anyone tried this that you know of? I have 6 non working but non puffy batteries at this point.

@@mikewoods8918 I took apart my only charger. It appears that the board in the charger communicates with the battery also. At this moment, I do not have a spare battery to take apart to understand the components. It would seem strange to have two logic controller (one within the battery and one in the charger) to watch the battery individual cell voltage.

@@doanhtran4651 You say you took apart your charger. Were there any wires to the charging connection that attaches to the battery other than the positive and negative wires? (such as smaller wires that might be to the controlling boards). I don't have my spare yet and haven't cut into it.
